We will be walking inside and through Medina and landmarks such as Koutoubia Mosque, Medina, Jamaa Elfna Square, etc.
Go on this cultural journey exploring the streets of Marrakech to the 12th century Koutoubia Mosque. It makes the Mosque’s minaret a landmark for navigating the city. The mosque’s interior is not open to tourists, but you can still take a walk in its garden. As you walk around it, you will learn much about its history and the 5 pillars of Islam, along with other religious matters. From here, we head and continue our exploring adventure by getting deep into the maze and labyrinths of Marrakech Medina. We will touch together with the beauty and the colors of the horseshoe arches, Riads doors, fountains, and much more!
During the tour, we will get close as well to Morocco in terms of many issues such as the variety of cultures, people, languages, traditions, economy, political system, and other topics. Such topics would enrich our walking and make it more enjoyable!

1. Koutoubia Mosque
The Koutoubia Mosque or Kutubiyya Mosque is the largest mosque in Marrakesh, Morocco. The mosque's name is also variable rendered as Jami' al-Kutubiyah, Kutubiya Mosque, Kutubiyyin Mosque, and Mosque of the Booksellers.
2. Bab Agnaou
Bab Agnaou is one of the nineteen gates of Marrakesh, Morocco. It was built in the 12th century in the time of the Almohad dynasty
3. Mellah
The Mellah in Marrakech refers to the area where Jews resided. Living in their own separate quarter meant that they were protected in the Kasbah walls, more easily watched and sure enough, taxed by the government.
4. Jemaa el-Fnaa
Jemaa el-Fna, Djema el-Fna or Djemaa el-Fnaa) is a square and market place in Marrakesh's medina quarter (old city). It remains the main square of Marrakesh, used by locals and tourists.
5. Rahba Kedima Square
Lively Rahba Kedima centers on the souks, a warren of alleys near Rue Semmarine, all packed with small shops selling leather slippers, ceramics, and jewelry.

The Ben Youssef Madrasa is an Islamic madrasa in Marrakesh, Morocco. Functioning today as a historical site, the Ben Youssef Madrasa was the largest Islamic college in Morocco at its height. The madrasa is named after the adjacent Ben Youssef Mosque founded by the Almoravid Sultan Ali ibn Yusuf.

The tour was great and it allowed me to have an idea of the city and then explore by myself the areas I want.
If possible make it on the 1st or 2nd day you are in Marrakesh so that you the have time to explore deeper what interests you the most.
Jamal is very nice and always ready to explain what you wish.
The only upgrade I would make to the experience would be a stop in a cafe... 4 to 5 hours tour without stoping for a drink is a bit exausting. :)

Jamal was our man in Marrakech, flexible with booking time and greeted us promptly with a broad smile and a font of knowledge. Thoroughly charming and engaging throughout with a laid back style. As well making us feel very comfortable in the bustling Medina he enabled us to sail round the souks casually like locals.
Jamal was happy to make recommendations, well connected and happy to be led by any requests. Jamal comes highly recommended.

Jamal is a very polite and professional tour guide. We started the tour from our Riad and he took us around Marrakech and explained the culture while crossing the different streets in Médina.

We were also lucky that Ibn Youssef School opened after 5 years on the same day of our visit.

In general I would highly recommend Jamal as a tour guide as he has good depth of knowledge about different aspects of the culture and is super fun to chat with!

A once in a lifetime experience because I doubt I'd ever have a tour guide taking me, alone, around the city again. Jamal was knowledgeable, patient with my picture requests and endless questions. I was taking round places I wouldn't have ordinarily reached on my own. It was absolutely a fantastic tour!
