Sistine Chapel Skip The Line Ticket

We had a hard time finding the address where to get our tickets and had to catch up with the group to enter the vatican museum and sistine chapel. Not advisable for seniors like us. Directions to the meeting point should be more specific especially since most people here don’t speak English to ask for directions.

Our guide was abrasive, there’s no tour, the price is just to get you in, after we walked in our guide disappeared without a word and we were wondering for a while near escalators with the rest of our group looking for her, to no avail. The place is overcrowded terribly I don’t think they mind capacity, it’s hot, some passage ways are narrow, no exit until the end. You not allowed to take photos of Sistine chapel, overall the worst experience.

The gardens of the Vatican were beautiful.
These could be seen through the open windows of the museum tour. We couldn't or didn't know how to get to them.
Was incredibly busy, ruined the Chapel experience. Did not feel it was a place of worship. People did not respect the ask to be quiet.

Wonderful experience. We arrived, place was very easy to find, person who took us in was simply brilliant: kind, polite, helpful, explained about maps, procedures, vatican stamps.
Amazing experience with not wasting precious time in Rome on a long ques. Best spent money ever.

The tickets I purchased were for 11:30 am. Approximately 3 weeks before my visit I was contacted and told the time moved to 3:30. Not ideal but I said okay. On the day of our visit when I picked up tickets, the time was for 4:30 entrance. I showed the desk agent the correspondence changing our visit to 3:30. She smiled and said, “oh that was probably a summer intern in the back office. They made a mistake. Your tickets are 4:30” Poor communication and bad customer service

Highly recommend this skip the line! Office was easy to find and well organized. They walked our group to a separate entrance with a shorter line. I realize that is the expectation but that doesn’t always happen so easily with others I’ve used. Once in the museum, I absolutely loved the diversity of the Vatican museums. Map room was my fav. Rooms can be a bit warm or stuffy so wear layers. Sistine Chapel was at the end and beautiful. Note: you can’t show knees or shoulders for men or women, so no shorts or sleeveless shirts.

We were so glad we chose to do a skip the line tour since we had also booked a colosseum tour later in the day. We were in a time crunch to see both since we were only in Rome two days and Sunday the Vatican was closed and the colosseum was open to the public and no tours occur. A normal Vatican tour is 3 1/2-4 hours long which honestly I think would have been too much for me. I was overwhelmed with how much there actually was to see. You could spend days in the museum and still not see everything. We chose the the tour that just skips the insane lines wrapped around the vatican just for entry. I believe the lines were 3-4 hours just to get into the museum. We got inside with skip the line in about a half hour. Once inside we decided to do a self guided tour which you can buy headsets for about 8 euros per person. They give you a headset and a map and you can listen to recordings of each of the exhibits. We didn't even end up listening to every single recording because again it would have taken so long. However we did listen to the recordings that interested us. We got through in about 2-2 1/2 hrs at our own pace which worked out perfectly for us to grab a quick lunch and head to our next tour. The two negatives is that we were rushed by security through the Sistine Chapel and didn't really get soak it all in. Also, on a self guided tour you do not have access into St Peter's Basilica and would need to then stand in line outside of the church to get in. Overall, this tour was what we needed it to be in the time we had and we were very glad we chose it over other tours offered. Don't waste hours of your vacation time in lines just to save a few bucks! A skip the line ticket or guided tour is definitely the way to go!

Amazing place and need to visit at least once in your life but spoilt by shoulder-to-shoulder visitors so just herded around. Really need to be better signage to find Viator redemption points. Also, skip the line tickets but still be prepared to queue!

Enjoyed as advertised. Not much else to add apart from I got what was offered. The meeting place was clear easy to find.
