Itinerary

Stop At: Lawrence's Spring, Wadi Rum Jordan

The spring is at the top of a short scramble – head for the fig tree, located just 2km (1.2 miles) south-west of the village of Rum. The spring was named in honour of Lawrence’s evocative description in the Seven Pillars of Wisdom: ‘’In front of us a path, pale with use, zigzagged up the cliff-plinth…From between [the] trees, in hidden crannies of the rock, issued strange cries; the echoes, turned into music, of the voices of the Arabs watering camels at the springs which flowed out three hundred feet above ground’’. Although the pool itself is largely unprepossessing, being a stagnant puddle, the views across the desert are truly spectacular.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Lawrence's House, Wadi Rum Village, Wadi Rum Jordan

Nobody is certain that this was Lawrence’s house, although there are stories that he both stayed and/or stored weapons here. The current structure is built upon the remains of a Nabataean building, however, and it’s another beautiful spot in the desert. There is little left of this building, erected on the Nabataean ruins of a water cistern. Nonetheless, legend has it that Lawrence stayed here during the Arab Revolt and that makes it a must on the regular 4WD circuits of the area. Near the building is a Nabataean inscription that mentions the area’s ancient name of Iram. The remote location and uninterrupted view of the red sand dunes are the main attractions.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Al Ramal Red Sand Dune, GCHC+XHG street, Wadi Rum Village, Jordan

Among the vast expanses of rust-colored sand in the Wadi Rum desert, the Red Sand Dune, or ‘Al Hasany’ in Arabic, is one of the most famous ones. Officially named Al Ramal it has become better known by its descriptive name. It stands out against a cliff side like it is part of the mountain. Colored red by the presence of iron oxide, this dune is fine and soft underfoot making it perfect to walk up barefoot!

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Wadi Rum Protected Area, Wadi Rum Jordan

Little Rock Bridge:
Easy to climb, this bridge offers great views across a broad expanse of desert. It is easily accessible and not dangerous, it is perfect for families with children and people who feel less comfortable with heights under their feet.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Khazali Canyon, GC9F+GP7 Wadi Rum Protected Area, Wadi Rum Village 77110, Jordan

Khazali Canyon in Wadi Rum is the site of petroglyphs etched into the cave walls depicting humans and antelopes dating back to the Thamudic times. This narrow canyon contains numerous Nabataean rock carvings of people and animals.
Jebel Khazali, a peak situated in the center of Wadi Rum Protected Area opens up in a narrow fissure of about 100 m length. Its inner walls are covered with Thamudic, Nabatean, and Islamic inscriptions, as well petroglyphs depicting humans and animals. Remarkable are the soles of feet petroglyphs, which probably had religious significance. In 1932 the French epigraphist Savignac noted the engravings in the cleft and published some of them in 1934.
The petroglyphs and inscriptions of Khazali Siq form an impressive collection being one of the major tourist attractions in Wadi Rum. At the end of the canyon, there are several man-made rock-cut basins for water collection.

This trip was a great, we were picked up by Feras and team in Wadi Rum, parked up the car and headed out into the desert. We visited a number of places in the 3 hours we had booked and took some amazing pictures and each stop was explained to us. The guide also offered to helped us take a number of pictures as well. The customer service and communication running up to the visit was top notch and follow up after was great also. We were able to communicate with Feras and team easily and answered all our questions. Personally I think 3 hours was the perfect amount of time in the desert (especially in the hot weather!!) Thank you!

Amazing experience. in the beginning it was hard to choose a provider as I was not able to understand the differences with the others. I did a great choice! it is very hard to trust someone there. The quality of the tour as well as the general knowledge of the guy and his eagerness to explain everything was amazing. The food was amazing too. I highly recommend it!

Me and jess were lucky enough to have Yousef - King of the desert - to guide us round wadi rum, whilst meeting many of his family and friends. It was an extraordinary experience and one we wont forget. Yousef opened our eyes to wadi rum, and you could see how much he loved and cherished the place, which heightened the experience and made it more authentic and genuine. If you want authentic, fun and superb value for money, look no further as this is for you. We also did the overnight stay which is part of the wadi rum experience, and essential in my opinion. Thank you yousef and the team.

First of all the communication via WhatsApp & email was fast, accurate and very helpful. Mario helped us to organize our trip not only in Wadi Rum but in Jordan generally with no additional cost. Totally great customer support and communication. Regarding the tour: We met Feras at the Wadi Rum Rest House where he was already waiting for us. He offered us tea and we felt cosy & safe from the begging. After visiting some attractions - which Feras explained us everything about each place we had a fantastic Bedouin lunch in the middle of the desert cooked by Feras. We continued our tour till the sunset and he took us to ''his special place'' in order to enjoy it properly. It was the most amazing sunset ever! After, Feras took us to the camp we had some more tea and Traditional Bedouin Dinner (they call it in the zarb). It was like a open buffet which you can eat as much as you want and try a big variety of different plates. Bedouins were really friendly and we felt like home. This is a kind of hospitality that you don't meet often. Unfortunately we didn't stay for the evening, beause we had to be back to Aqaba for our flight. Thank you for everything guys! Hope to see you again!

I went on a full day tour with Youssef and everything went smooth. From discussing the tour beforehand with Mario, finding a suitable date and meeting the guide at the wadi rum rest house. The sites were amazing, Youssef always ready to answer questions in a good English. A couple of Bedouin tea stops along the way and a lunch package were well appreciated. I’d recommend them for your desert trip. I’ve been in Wadi Rum before with a different tour organizer but this time was definitely more enjoyable. Professional and safe driving throughout the day.
