We recently went on the Heineken Experience Amsterdam and 1-Hour Canal Cruise tour (afternoon time slot). There were a few meeting points listed, and we chose the Lovers Boat Tour location since it was closest to our hostel. Upon arrival, the gentleman behind the counter advised us to start with the Heineken tour. This caused some initial confusion as it wasn't clear that we needed to arrange our own transportation between the two locations.

We opted for public transit since it was close to the canal cruise departure point, but it did add a bit of anxiety to our plans. Despite this, the Heineken Experience itself was fantastic! It was unlike any other brewery tour I've ever been on. The tour is immersive and engaging, taking about 20 minutes to reach from the canal area near the train station.

The canal cruise, on the other hand, was just okay. The views were lovely, but the experience felt impersonal due to the pre-recorded audio commentary. A live guide would have added a more personal touch.

Overall, while there were some logistical challenges, the Heineken Experience made the tour worthwhile.

Buyer beware! The Heineken tour and the canal cruise are separate events and over 1.5 miles from each other!!! So when you pick up your tickets at the Lovers Canal Cruise location, you have to walk over 3 miles round trip just to get back to the canal cruise to start that tour!!! It's a mess just buy tickets directly from each and save yourself the hassle. Or book with a canal tour company like the blue line that offers a direct cruise to and from the Heineken experience.

Poor description of tour. Boat tour was 38 minutes from Heineken factory. The factory told us boat was across the street which was incorrect. It was pouring rain and we could not get to the boat tour. We did not do the boat tour and I applied for a refund and it was denied. Do NOT use this company. You can get tickets directly at factory.

Heineken Experience was an absolute highlight. Very modern. The audio guide was also in German, but the individual "stations" where the staff explained something were in English.

The canal tour wasn't really worth it. It's a standard boat trip in a very crowded boat and an audio guide via headphones. There are definitely nicer canal tours. It's a question of budget.

The actual Heineken Experience was good, very friendly staff and informative.
The canal cruise wasn't running as they stop it in the winter months.

Beware of the boat restrictions. There was nothing in the Tripadvisor booking details and we almost lost out in our boat trip because the last sailing booking is 3.30pm we arrived at 3.30 to arrange our booking to be told it would have to be the following day. Not great when that was the day we went home.

Heineken was fabulous, great experience!!

Great experience and very well done tour. Not only about how they make their beer but also about the brand and their founders. Interesting stories too. And of course some delicious beer along the way!
