Matthew the singing tour guide is fantastic, he kept the entire group of us entertained with a fun engaging tour. The entire tour was very informative and a great way to spend the afternoon. I can not recommend this experience enough.

Our excellent tour guide,”DC”, picked us up at our hotel. There were only four of us in our tour group. DC had a wealth of knowledge about the area and it was really interesting to hear him talk about salmon swimming upstream and how they are able to find their way to where they spawn. It’s a great way to experience a little bit of different areas of the city. I only wish we had done the tour at the beginning of our time there instead of at the end so that we could go back and revisit some of the areas he showed us. After the tour was over he was kind enough to take us back to our hotel to pick up our luggage and then drop us off at the rail station and he took the other couple to Chinatown where they wanted to have lunch. He could not have been more accommodating and nice.

First of all -- the guide was great (Shawn), and the route was extensive and interesting! HOWEVER, instead of one of the pink vans, we had a white van with advertising art on the windows that made it VERY HARD TO SEE OUT. Look, folks, this is a van tour -- the guide is looking out his (clear) windshield and left and right windows and calling out things to look at while we're pretty constantly in motion, but the passengers can BARELY SEE the things because the JUNK on the windows. When we leapfrogged the pink vans doing the same tour from the same company, we could see that they (thankfully) had no such obstructions. I found myself bobbing my head back and forth to try and see through the total-coverage window coverage art. My father was trying to scrunch down to see a bit out the windshield over the driver's head and to look out the small vertical windows on the loading door. Fix this van's windows, stop using this van, or offer 75% off to those who get assigned to this van. It's really that bad.

DC was very friendly and informative. We had a small group so we were able to ask a lot of questions. The most unexpected parts were the visit to the locks, learning about the salmon life cycle and viewing the herons nesting.

1.21.24 James picked Aileen and I up at Crown Plaza for a 3-hour tour. Being a Sunday lesser cars on the road; weather was cool and wet. History of 'moving the hill' to make downtown below the waterline was fascinating. Art work, murals, using Seattle backdrop for Hollywood sets made TV series and movies more entertaining. Stops along the way included the locks, Fisherman's Terminal, Queen Anne neighbor-hood, scenic overview of downtown, Pike's Market and gum wall! Interesting trivia - Seattle has manhole covers with city map through-out downtown. Find the "white" painted dots on it and visitors can navigate their location. Great experience and time with James. Thanks Shawn with the reservation. Aileen & Mary

Our city tour with Shaun was great. We were picked up at our hotel promptly and then go a mini-tour while the rest of the tour members were collected. Two young men had come in from Asia and overslept but Shaun made every effort to ensure they were part of our group. We got a great overview of Seattle, with history as well as current day information with no inappropriate comments on politics, etc. We never dreamed there was so much to see in Seattle, and wish we could have spent longer in the city. We had fun as well as getting to see and learn about the city. Highly recommended.

The pick up location was minutes from our hotel, which was very convenient. We had four older adults on our tour. It was a Friday and our tour guide made it clear that he had not guided a tour on a Friday for a long time. His comment made more sense as we started our tour and found the streets clogged. He did his best to reconfigure the tour to go places that would be busier later, so we could see what we needed to see in the allotted amount of time. Unfortunately, this was not an enjoyable tour, as it needed to be more personalized to the clientele on the shuttle, and not follow a set schedule of locations. There were places we were supposed to stop for photos that we just drove by, preventing photo opportunities. There was one bathroom stop after the first hour, but nothing after, nor was it offered. The other party on the shuttle started mentioning their hotel before the two hour mark on the three hour tour, as they were just as bored and ready to quit the tour early as was our party. When we went to the salmon ladder/locks it was apparent that James was excited to show us the salmon. Unfortunately two out of the four in our group couldn’t make the long and steep walk to the location due to age/ability, and James didn’t seem to care who came and who didn’t. We spent a great deal of time looking for non-existent salmon and didn’t go to see the locks at all. I would have rather seen the locks in action, as there was a boat going through. It was nice of James to drop us off at our hotel, instead of making us walk back after the tour was over. Because of games being played at the sports arenas, we didn’t get to see them, yet I doubt anyone on our tour cared. We were just looking forward to the end. It was possibly the longest three hour tour (besides the three hour tour that stranded the passengers of the USS Minnow on Gilligan’s Island). This tour maybe interesting for others, yet we were bored beyond belief.
