Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Isola di Murano, Isola Di Murano Piazzale Roma o Fondamenta Nuove, 30141 Murano Italy

The enchanting islands of Murano and Burano are the perfect change of pace from Venice’s crowded streets and waterways. And the perfect way to reach them is by private water taxi. Faster and sturdier than a gondola, nimbler and less crowded than a waterbus, water taxis are the premier way to travel in Venice. Few visitors get to experience them, but yours is included, along with an expert local guide who’ll explain Venice’s history as a titan of trade along the way.

Your first port of call is a specially chosen glassblowing workshop on Murano. In the Middle Ages, only Murano’s artisans possessed the secrets of this craft, and sharing them was punishable by execution. You’ll get to witness modern glassblowers wield those once secret techniques, shaping delicate and dazzling works of art from molten glass. Then admire the workshop’s finest work in its gallery, and perhaps take home a piece of your own – with a tour discount. Or explore more of Murano, including its peaceful canals and stunning Byzantine church.

Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes

Stop At: Burano, 30142 Venice, Metropolitan City of Venice, Italy

The locals of nearby Burano still maintain the island’s tradition of handmade lace, some of the finest anywhere in the world. You’ll get to observe lace being hand-stitched the way it has been for generations. Then visit the lace museum to see the island’s greatest work, or simply enjoy the photo opportunity provided by the colorful houses, brightly painted so sailors could see home as they returned from the sea. When you cross the lagoon back to Venice, you’ll have a renewed appreciation of the crafts that put the city on the map so long ago.

Amazing tour with plenty of time on each of the islands to have a walk, great visiting both the glass factory and the lace production, would definitely recommend!

Amazing tour! Sylvia was a funny, knowledgeable, amazing guide, and the tour was very well done. The ride to both islands contained cool info, then the glass and lace demonstrations were fascinating. I didn’t feel pressured to buy things, but I did buy a beautiful table cloth in Burano. We did the 2:30 tour, which was nice bc we got to see Burano as it closed up. The streets were more empty, and it was nice to be there later in the day. I read a lot of reviews before booking this one, and this one is definitely worth booking! On the way back, she added lots of facts about the other islands we passed, and we were lucky enough to see migrating flamingos. Two thumbs up for the entire experience!

Elly and Elena were fabulous tour guides. Elly was extremely energetic and entertaining with facts about the region and Venetian culture. My struggle with the tour was that it was scheduled originally for the morning. However due to a boat race they had to reschedule to later in the day which meant that when we arrived in Burano the island was shutting down for the day so the shops and some restaurants such as the gelato place they highly recommended were closed. Even the public facilities were closed at 5:30. The boat race should have been known long before the week of the tour and planned around long before. We were left with no other alternative about rebooking. The tour was fantastic and so were the guides but the poor planning made us give this a low rating.

Great tour. Very well organized. Ellena was a very good guide. Visited a glass fabric. They were not pushy selling. Wish I had more time to explore the islands.

Besides having a hard time understanding our guide’s English, the tour was good. It was nice to see the three islands. Islands were great.

What a great way to see both islands. If you are looking to buy either glass or lace I highly recommend buying on the islands versus Venice. Our tour guide Cecilia was delightful and very knowledgeable.

This tour of the islands was spectacular. Francesca was such a wonderful tour guide. She was very knowledgeable and helpful during the tour. We were able to capture so many beautiful pictures and bought some of the best souvenirs of our entire trip. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to get away from the super touristy areas of Venice.

Loved watching the glass blowing. We’re delayed a bit too long in Murano by one couple making a purchase while the rest of the boat waited. Burano was beautiful!

The tour guide was excellent. She was knowledgeable and caring. She showed us all the areas and everything you would want to see and remember. She even gave us tips on the best Gelato! The boat ride was amazing as far as getting to see the most magnificent scenery. The demonstration at Murano glass factory was excellent. I took a video and I purchased the item made in the demonstration. Burano was a unique little town. I enjoyed seeing it and the lace was an art to remember.
