Small group tour is definitely worth the additional cost to enjoy the quaint area just outside of Amsterdam. Our guide/driver Goulven aka "G" was perfect for our congenial group of six -- knowledgeable about the area and history (and the world beyond The Netherlands too.) Our tour was un-hurried so we had plenty of time to relax, shop and enjoy the beautiful views. We got lucky with weather and had a delicious lunch at a perfect spot right on a canal. Highly recommend!

Our small group of 4 ( could probably take 6) was most enjoyable. Our guide Ali was excellent, great narration while traveling to sights. He knew the people at the locations and we were given special attention. The family Cheese farm and wooden shoe factory was more interesting than I expected. The windmills were a required visit but several bus loads were there ( unavoidable) and we chose not to pay the fees to enter each windmill but that was just a personal preference.

The fishing village, tour and lunch on a barge in town was enjoyable and fun. An additional small village walk through was fun. All possible due to our small group size.

Ali was terrific and I would advise spending the extra money for this tour vs the large busses if you can afford to do so.

The guide was excellent, very informative about local culture. The cheese making experience was good, the automated dairy farm was very interesting. We were little rushed for time at the windmills, I would suggest an additional half hour. Overall it was a very good experience.

We had a wonderful day tasting cheese, learning about clog making, loved the visit to the local dairy farm and the fishing village. And of course our time at Zaanse Schwan's Windmills. Our guide, Ali, was enlightening and educational. A wonderful day filled with so much Dutch culture.

Ali was an amazing guide. I had taken a similar bus tour about 10 years ago that was disappointing. I wanted to show my grandson the countryside and opted for this small group tour. We absolutely loved it. It was a more personal visit to a cheese and clog factory including a dairy farm. We also got to go into a working windmill. A very memorable day.

What an amazing time we had, ticked every box and was taken off the usual circus to smaller intimate sights. Ali, our driver was so full of knowledge and super friendly and really enjoyed showing us around. There was only 2 of us on this tour, so it felt like a private tour. Thankyou for taking us and delivering your promise of a real Dutch experience. Don’t hesitate and just book, you will be thanking me for my honest review.

Excellent tour! Just the right length, right number of guests (8) and very good tour guide. No long travel distances to visit lovely Dutch villages.

Ali was wonderful! He gave us so much information, but made it so fun at the same time. The windmill village was beautiful and had so much to explore. We also enjoyed the cheese demonstration and the tasting, although there was a large tour bus there which made it a little crowded and difficult to get to the cheese samples; certainly not our guide’s fault. The wooden shoe demonstration was interesting, and we loved our lunch and walk through the fishing village. Very happy with our tour and thankful we had Ali as our guide!
