I did not really like that tour because of 2 major things. 1) Tom, the guide. Its english is so bad that we had to ask a chinese friend to translate it to us. He speaks mandarin 90% of the time and english 10%. Tom's description is all about money and often useless. 2) 90% of our lunch was really bad chinese food. All people we talked with said they won't eat chinese food again. DON'T USE THE FOOD PACKAGE, there is always good place (and cheaper) to eat by yourself. On the other hand, the landscape is spectacular.

The scenery was amazing and meeting new people. When we went to the Columbia Icefields we experienced snow falling which was very spectacular.

The hotel we stayed at in Banff was great, and our tour guide was awesome – they could speak both English and Cantonese fluently and treated everyone really well. There weren't many fancy meal options, but you could still find good American, Italian, Indian, Asian and Mexican food along the way. We had a good time overall, and the tour guide & driver make made the trip enjoyable.

The whole trip was memorable. Lake Louise and the ice field were awesome. Also seeing the black bear close up was brilliant. Both Harry the driver, and BOB the guide were excellent, and knowledgeable.

For a couple from Australia the experience was fantastic , the tour itself leaves much to be desired. To start with our guide spoke in Mandarin then Cantonese and a brief version of English. So glad we opted not to have the meal plan because every meal was Chinese. However if you did not take the meal plan like us you had to fend for yourself and find your own, the only help being there is subway and McDonalds down the street. The accommodation were great and overall good value for your money, could have been longer as it was rushed.

Terrible tour guide (Tom) who ruined the tour with his rudeness and pushiness. Tom was very focused on how much everything cost, how terrible each place was and what he didn’t like about things. Everything was very Asian focused (all meal plans were catered for Asian’s). Most dialogue was in asian. Tom was very pushy on buying all tours through him and how much he could save us on the trip money. The mandatory service fee per person per day is a joke. If I had my choice my whole tip would have gone on the driver who kept us safe and got us from A-B without a hitch. I would never recommend this tour for any non Asian person as it is not very Caucasian friendly.Even our tour stops were all Asian oriented (a ginger NG factory where everything is in asian).
I was totally fobbed off when I asked Tom a question and felt like I was an impost.
PLUS the night before we got a text message asking if we wanted to sit in the front row of the bus for an extra $80pp that we paid to him. Yep a tour of my lifetime was nothing but a money maker for tour guide. It was our second tour that we prebooked from Australia wirh this company because it sounded so good. Nope don’t be fooled like I was. Bloody terrible.

The views, the places, everything is spectacular, I loved it! Whoever wants to buy the tour take into account that most activities are on the second and third day; since the first and the last is mostly transportation since Banff is far from Vancouver, but the road is still beautiful to listen to music or read

I can’t stop talking about my trip with everyone . The ride was so comfortable and the scenic route was beautiful with mountains, trees, heritage sites and the rivers with such deep coloured waters. We also had a chance to see wildlife. There was no shortage of food. Quite the spread they put out, and the desserts were delicious. The friendly, experienced staff were able to ensure all your needs were met. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone This is a once in a lifetime experience that I’ll never forget. Thank you Rocky Mountaineer for this amazing trip.
