The trip was amazing. The best part of our trip was on our arrival at the starting point to find out our family of four was upgraded to a private boat tour. To top that it was a new pontoon and Captain Mary was just super awesome. She was extremely friendly and provided all the insights throughout the tour. Now the best part; the vanishing island stays on surface for a very short time until the tide takes over. Our family lost track of time collecting sand dollars while the tide was rising, Captain Mary quickly navigated her pontoon near our end of the island to “rescue” us and was extremely skillful to operate the pontoon in rising tide. All of us got on the boat safely and in minutes the island disappeared! On the way back Captain Mary spotted dolphins for us and came very close to some of them offering best views. We also saw flying Manta rays! Captain Mary educated us on their behavior. She also informed us of the oysters and shells that protected the island. She is extremely knowledgeable. All in all a very memorable trip for us and special shout out to Captain Mary!! She is the best!

The Disappearing Island Tour through Lowcountry WaterSports was money well spent! Tour was organized and tour guides were knowledgeable and friendly. We saw dolphins and rays, but our favorite part was the island. We got to hold live starfish and crabs, as well as look for sea shells. The scenery was beautiful and the entire experience was one I’d highly recommend!

The boat was broken down so tour was delayed which is out of their control and understandable. Once we could check in about 40 min late we were told to wait outside and they would call for us. No one did so someone checked and the boat had left without at least 9 people we know of. That was 1/3 of the group. After being delayed there was no checks or balance to see if the quantity checked in were on the boat. At that point we had spent two hours of the weekend waiting and ultimately not getting a tour. It was such a mess.

The guides on the boat were amazing. Kind and entertaining. We planned to go to disappearing island but it had “disappeared” so they gave us the option to return a different day or get refunded for that portion. They made sure we saw some dolphins while we were out on such a cold windy day.

The ride and scenery was great. Our day was little overcast and cool. We say quite a few dolphins but could not get out at vanquishing island. The wind was strong and pushed water over so there was really no island land to walk on. Mother Nature at her best. Captain and mate were great.
