This is a typical itinerary for this product

After being picked up in the Reykjavik Capital Area, we will head out of the city away from any light pollution to the best location , chosen on the day, for visibility of the evening. We sometimes need to wait for the Northern lights to appear, and even change location over the evening. The guide is always in contact with our office and other locals for details on where the visibility is best each evening in case they need to change location. We always try to go where the crowds are not, but can not always guarantee that others looking for the Northern lights will not show up at the same spot.

Traveler pickup is offered
From 1st April, pickup starts at 21:30 and can take up to 30 minutes or a little bit more sometimes, depending on conditions. We might need to ask you to go to closest bus stop for your pickup.

The probability of seeing the Northern lights can vary and their visibility is dependent on cloud coverage and other weather factors. We always try our best to only go out if the same-day forecast predicts good visibility
Since forecasts are never a 100% guarantee and only a prediction, it can happen the Northern lights will not show. If so, you can always have a free re-run (pending availability) if you let us know and we'll then rebook you
If you join the tour, you will not get a refund. But you can join as many times as you want until you see them
We do our best to see the Northern Lights for you!
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund
This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund

They are bad people.
They don’t care about your experience and memory. They just want your money.
Photo done by staff is included in package, but they will give you all kinda reasons not to provide because it’s time consuming for them.
Trust me….. make sure you read other reviews.

Daniel, our driver and guide, was very knowledge and knew how to find the Aroura Boreal as soon as we got out of the city. We were very lucky because it was April 27, 2024 which is very late in the season, any way I was very happy and glad I took this tour, I highly recommend it, its worth the price.
The experience seeing the Northern Lights was unreal for me.

Frozen solid but the sight of the lights made it worth it! We had a good forecast so we didn't have to drive very far out to catch the lights. Our guide Michael was an entertaining guy and tried to keep the little bus engaged on our way there. The hot chocolate and cinnamon buns were a nice addition to the brilliant colours and pictures taken that night.

When I booked the tour, it said pick up at my hotel. Shortly before the tour, I received word, I’d be picked up for a 11 pm tour at a bus stop and was told it might take up to 30 min. I arrived before 11pm., waited and waited. I called Viator and attempted to contact the tour agency. Finally at 1140 pm, the van showed up and the driver and I was informed the wait could be up to an hour which it didn’t. This is in marked contrast to a tour I took the next day, where the company and driver called/communicated with passengers. The guide gave a good presentation. We drove around but no Northern Lights. I was hopeful though none of the other tours were running in May. We received cocoa and cinnamon buns without napkins. Back at hotel by 3am.
The company did guarantee a return tour if I return and provided a link for photos from earlier this year. Low rank for communication. 3 for trying and presentation

If you are going in May, do not waste your money. We drove around until 3am, saw nothing and cannot get a refund or credit toward another excursion.

Daniel our guide was really passionate about northern lights and he managed to find a gap a we saw northern lights despite being out of season.

We didn’t expect to have a chance to see the Northern Lights during our trip in early May, but when the forecast looked good, we booked this tour last minute. Daniel was a great guide, and we managed to see the lights early in our chase! The rest of the chase wasn’t as lucky, but seeing anything in May, much less the Aurora with the naked eye, felt like a gift. We learned a lot from Daniel about how to chase the lights too, which will help us on future visits.

The whole experience is good. Everything is arranged well starting from the Hotel pick up to the Northern Lights viewing area and guidance/help to view the lights

We went on this and the guide canceled it due to clouds, later we found out April is more or less too later to see them.
We were refused refund even though the guide canceled it. Also we went into the middle of no where for hours before he canceled it.. he has no gps radar for clouds???
These people are bad and could have explained this to us... buter beware

Palli was a phenomenal guide! I could tell that he was really enthusiastic and passionate about what he does! He was engaging, and if there was down time, he was happy to let people rest their eyes while he kept his eyes on the sky. What I loved most about this particular tour was if there was no luck with views on the date of your initial booking, you can re-attempt as many times as you want!! How awesome!! I had a wonderful time and would recommend this tour to anyone traveling to Iceland!
