After a short drive towards Uluru, we begin to comprehend its sheer size and magnificence, getting up close and personal to explore further. On our base walk towards Kuniya Piti, we discover sacred rock art sites in family caves and hear the creation stories of Kuniya and Liru.  We drive around sacred sites towards Kantju Gorge where we view the highest waterfall in Central Australia, an elders' cave, and the world's oldest pantry.  After seeing the world's most impressive rock up close and personal, we retreat for panoramic views to witness one of the most incredible sunsets on earth.

Here we set off on a hike through the Valley of the Winds or Walpa Gorge marveling at the mighty conglomerate rock formations. After exploring Kata Tjuta we make our way towards Kings Canyon region just in time to experience a glorious outback sunset followed by a hearty meal around the campfire.

Arriving at the jewel in the crown at the centre of Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon) we find ourselves surrounded by towering 100-meter cliff faces, views of sandstone chasms, and jaw-dropping backdrops that will make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck. Grab your water, hat, and sturdy shoes as we set off on foot to explore (the most seasonally applicable part of) the canyon in more detail. The scenery was breath-taking and we were lucky enough to be there shortly after rains which had left the waterholes full and the plants in bloom. Jordan, our guide, helped us really get to know the areas we hiked. He was well-informed and always helpful. I had some doubts about my ability to keep up with the group as we started hiking the Kings Canyon, but Jordan coached me through it for an unforgettable experience.

An awesome three day tour to see Uluru, Kata Tjuṯan and kinds canyon. The scenery is something else and a must visit! The camp sites were much better than I expected with kitchen facilities and toilets and showers. I was expecting much more basic facilities. Our guide Jordan was fantastic. Tristan and Tye our tour guides were absolutely amazing. They were full of knowledge of the area and had an endless stream of energy. I learnt so much about the history of the area, the culture, the topography, and the night sky. And to top it all off they had the best sense of humor and a true love of life and their job.
