Chaotic and unfriendly explanation. Resort is outdated, they sell terrible food. Snorkeling and kayaking is nice, but no beach watch.

Staff are extremely friendly and try their best to ensure you have a great day, very helpful with all questions and concerns. Pricing is not bad considering the ferry is included in your day pass. Resort facilities are ok but handy to have access to. The wrecks are 1.7km beach walk from the equipment hire area. Kayaks can be used to get you from point to point however the current is extremely strong and so at least one way will be very hard if you are not a regular kayaker. Snorkeling from the beach to the reef is approximately 70-100 meters depending on the tide and once again can be difficult when fighting the current. There is another equipment hire company at the reef but you would still need to get there on your own. Although advertised on the website, we did not realise until the day that despite paying your fee for the day, you are still required to put down a $50 deposit per person before using the equipment. Although I gather it will be described as a ‘bank issue’, it has been 7 days and the money has still not been returned to our account. If I was to return to Moreton Island I would do one of the boat tours that take you to the actual wreck itself. At least that way you are guaranteed to see them up close regardless of tide conditions.

There was a lot of wasted time due to a lack of organization. A lot of waiting for the rest of the group to finish paperwork or to arrive off the ferry or grab their rented gear. If they did these in smaller groups and sent them on their way, the process would be a lot smoother. When actually going to the wrecks, it is a bit chaotic. The current and boats everywhere is a bit overwhelming if not an avid swimmer. I wasn’t fully comfortable and I am a professional athlete who spends her time in the water. If you are not an avid swimmer or feel comfortable with a kayak then I would recommend getting the guided tour to get to the wrecks easier. I would recommend paying a little more for a better tour company.

Caught covid 2days before the tour and contacted the operator to change the date. No response after several messages and when I called Moreton Adventure, I was put on hold for 20 mins and got hang up. Called again and was told Moreton Adventure was not the actual operator, the resort is therefore my request was forwarded to the resort for decision. At the end my request was declined because it is less than 48 hours before the tour date. My tickets were wasted.

This was a great trip and included the use of a few hours of snorkelling equipment, SUP and kayak rental. We had plenty of time on each piece of equipment and you had a lot of freedom to choose which activity to do and when. The island is beautiful and we were lucky enough to see lots of gorgeous fish when snorkelling around the shipwreck and they even came up to the kayaks! I recommend bringing a waterproof phone case or waterproof camera to catch it all. The only downside was how much of a nightmare it was to get to and from the pickup location without a car as the buses were awful and they don’t offer pickup.

I agree with Erica here. The day itself was fine but some of the staff are rude and treat you like you are stupid if you make a mistake with the equipment. For example if you rinse the snorkel gear in the wrong place you get staff rudely telling you about it and that you should have listened at the start. Nothing is labelled or clearly marked and the process of getting gear was chaotic. The staff rush through the information with you so it’s hard to remember everything. If they want things to go as they want they need to organise the system and label wash stations etc instead of it being one big free for all. The island itself was beautiful and the trip was reasonably cheap. Boat ride over was good. So it will get 2 stars because of that. If you get stressed out easily then this tour is probably not for you.

Clear water, soft sand, snorkelling and the beautiful tropical garden beds every you turned. So many activities offered, something for everyone to do. Fish and chips to die for. 😋 Had the best day with my sis and grandkids

We got the ferry from Brisbane. There's ample free street parking outside the terminal or $20 to park for the day in the terminal. Staff at check in, on the boat and on the island were great. This trip includes 3 hours of kayak and snorkel hire, 1 hour stand up paddle board hire and use of the resorts facilities. Recommend hiring the kayak and snorkel together, kayak to the shipwrecks and then swim out to them. It is quite a way out though so you need to be a strong swimmer! Visibility around the wrecks isn't the best. Can snorkel in the shallows too and see fishes and baby rays. Hot showers available where you hire the equipment from. Pool tables in the B&B bar. Recommend bringing your own packed lunch, sunscreen and plenty of water.

My husband and I booked this tour last minute after being told of the beauty of Moreton Island. I wished we never had!! The island itself is beautiful, but everything else revolving around it is just utterly horrific! - Information provided upon booking was very inconsistent, instructing us to meet at the docks: 0 min, 30 min or 60 min before departure… all on the same ticket! - After landing in Moreton, we were herded to some tables where we had to fill out a formular and decide which activities we wanted to participate. We had paid extra for the snorkeling guided tour so they told us to proceed to the sport equipment renting shop. There the circus started: we have previously rented fins and wet suits at many different locations across Queensland and Moreton was by far the most ridiculously disorganized system I have ever seen: queue a first time just to tell what you need, a second queue for the fins where we stood with other people for over 10 min without anybody from the staff showing up, queue a third time for the dirtiest, most worn out wet suit I have ever seen. Are you done after that? NO! Now you have to fill ANOTHER formular with some rude stuff members. Then came the briefing and waiting for the boat - tour was supposed to start at 9:45, we weren’t on the boat until 10:30… - The boat takes 5 min to reach the wrecks and the snorkeling tour lasted 30min - ridiculously short given we had spent over an hour being made ready for it. And unfortunately: it was NOT worth the wait! Moreton wasn’t too crowded on the day of our visit and yet I can’t tell you how many snorkelers, divers, people in kayak are at the wrecks - I was hit twice by kayaks, which is unavoidable in those conditions. The guide barely gave any info, her only preoccupation was getting us at the other end of the site within 30min and kept ordering us to keep going. We were then rushed to the boat because “we have go pick up the next tour”. What a rip off! - Lunch: if your expectations are at the level of the worst fast food you’ve ever had, you’ll be disappointed: it is worse! We had calamari and fish that tasted like rubber, undercooked chips, a burger as dry as a bone. Food on the island is simply disgusting! We were so let down we decided to take an earlier ferry back to Brisbane. And just so you know: it may be 2022 but the ferry operator believes we are still in the 90’s. You booked online? You still have to line to get your ferry pass - once in Brisbane and once in Moreton, or they won’t let you on board. Save your money and plan something else if you are in Brisbane!
