We spent many hours on the big bus yesterday. There was little to no commentary we found out more information by googling as we went and fellow travellers with their maps open. Have done this in many city’s of the world to get a feel for the lay of the land. Sorry NYC you are not up to scratch.

I enjoyed the trip as a means to getting a general feel of New York on our first day in the city, however you don't actually see many landmarks from the bus. The staff at the stops weren't particularly friendly and didn't interact with the passengers. We didn't use the on bus commentary due to the poor volume.
There is a hard sell by the Big Bus staff everywhere you go in Times Square.

Such a worthless, waste of money. First, I wasn't even asked to show my ticket, so I assume anyone could have hopped on the bus. But worst of all, this is described as a sightseeing tour which led me to believe that there would be someone pointing out interesting sights and talking about them. NOPE! You are given cheap ear buds to plug into the bus and most of the time it's playing music. There was about 30 seconds of recorded information that told me about something that wasn't even in view and was information that was readily available on the internet. We were so disappointed that we didn't even get back on the bus. Also, the route times end early in the day.

Having taken Hop-On Hop-Off Bus trips in other cities in the U.S. and Europe, I had an idea of what it would be like. Unfortunately, it did not meet up with my other experiences. There was not a live person narrating the tour, therefore several times the narration was not what we were looking at from the bus. With traffic being stopped at times, it was hard to tell what we were supposed to be seeing. The Frank Sinatra recording of "New York, New York", toward the end, was good.

We have travelled extensively and taken many Hop On/Off buses. This one started off fine. We took the red line from the start point. The commentary is very good. Enough facts to be interesting and informative without overkill and even a little humour thrown in. We thought the route was fine. However, when we tried to take the Blue Line we waited an hour to no avail. The bus stop vendor was of no help. He just shrugged his shoulders. We and many other angry customers then walked to the next station (20 min.) and waited another 15 min. to catch the bus. No one from the company apologized and when your time and money are precious as a sightseer you don't want to wait 1 1/2 for a bus. This is lousy service.

Saw a lot. It was a good high level snap shot of me York.
Changing the voucher to tickets. No staff to accommodate At most stops. Made the drivers cranky to not have tickets only the voucher

Poor experience. Offered a discount for a one day tour but tickets issued only allowed us to do one section so not a discount at all. Staff disinterested and rude and smelt of dope. Recording very low quality and you just sit on the major roads in traffic! Don’t waste your money - use the subway it’s really easy to get around.

This was a horrible company! I paid for two days and in two days there wasn't one single driver who was helpful. The audio descriptions (headsets) didn't work on any of the buses. They don't announce the stop so you have to figure it out yourself. Then the bus just stopped for 20 minutes for no reason and we had to sit and wait until they finally restarted the round. I can't say enough bad things about Big Bus hop on hop off. What a miserable experience with this garbage "tour".

The bus tour was ok. They didn't keep an accurate schedule and waiting for a long time got irritating. The recorded stuff was nice. I'd recommend just using the subway and reading your own history. If we actually wanted to get off on any stops that would have been tough with the time schedule. They also didn't stop at every stop they said they would. the app was inaccurate
