Thay had so many different sections. Before I know it, we had spent more than 2 hrs in the aquarium. It was so interesting to learn and there were some interactive sessions. Very enjoyable.

A bit pricey at $50 each (we had 10% off) but overall a good experience. I didn’t mind paying a bit extra when we found out that they actively work to improve the environment and care for wildlife. It was great to learn so much about wildlife and the local tropical north environment/ecosystems. I would recommend if in Cairns

Incredible presentations! We were able to catch all of the shows on our visit and each presenter was so knowledgeable and engaging. I loved how they have a focus on conservation and touch on really important threats to our local habitats. We also booked onto the turtle hospital tour to support sea turtles. Special shout out to Brett who did our tour he was absolutely fantastic and so passionate. And a special shout out to Christine, who did talk about the Great Barrier Reef, it was so inspirational, and I will only be using reef safe sunscreen from now on! We took so much away from this visit, such a beautiful facility, but the educational value at this facility is second to none. Best public presenters we’ve ever seen. Great job Cairns Aquarium!

"While in Cairns, we decided to visit the aquarium based on a recommendation, and it was fantastic! It was very educational, and we learned a lot about Australia and the surrounding area. We weren't disappointed at all. It made for a wonderful day."

The staff at the aquarium and check in desk are very friendly and helpful! The staff doing the talks/tours are very knowledgeable and have great talks that are engaging for all age groups. There are plenty of animals to see at this place. I would suggest doing a Great Barrier Reef tour after the aquarium. This is because I went to the Great Barrier Reef before the aquarium and found the aquarium to be underwhelming compared to the reef. Overall the aquarium is a great place, the staff are defiantly 5 stars. A 4 star was given as no aquarium can match the real life experience. Would be a good place to take kids or people who are not suited to snorkelling in the reef. Also the aquarium has other reptiles and amphibians that you can see.

Went here with my 11 year old daughter who loved it. The theme is rainforest to ocean and there are displays that take you through each of the various eco systems. Very clean and welcoming place, with some free talks and interactive pools. We spent about 2 hours there.
