Columbia, Panama canal, Costa Rico, Guatemala and Mexico were the stops on the cruise with Holland America. First class all the way. Three excursions at various ports of call and shopping at the rest, all while being pampered when on board the ship.

10/10 would recommend! Alfonso was an amazing and knowledgeable tour guide. His English was fantastic! Brian was our fearless driver and was able to spot animals on our drives. We were able to see howler monkeys and Coati. Alfonso expertly covered history, nature and culture. We even took a hike through the rain forest. They provided snacks and beverages on the trip. Would definitely recommend this trip to the Panama Canal, Castillo de San Lorenzo and the Rain Forest.

Excursion during a cruise port stop at Colon: I was starting to panic because I couldn't find the guide, but with a few messages through Whatsapp, I quickly found them holding a sign with my name, and boarded the bus for a fun adventure starting at Agua Clara, then visiting Fort San Lorenzo. I didn't know Agua Clara had a shaded trail right by the dropoff area so I only got to spend a few minutes there as I had walked down to the lock area before that. After Fort San Lorenzo, we had to improvise as a couple of guests had to get back to the cruise port earlier than the rest of us. This would have meant cutting the excursion short as we had not stopped for any animal sightings in the rainforest. So Alonzo gave us the option of going back to the port or staying with him for a tour through the rainforest on foot and getting picked up later. Just 3 of us decided to go with Alonzo and I couldn't be more thrilled - we got an authentic tour by an experienced and knowledgeable guide - through the forest and ending up at a little beach before meeting back up with our driver. Then on the way back, the driver stopped at the top of Centennial Bridge for a few seconds so I could take a picture. This was a very enjoyable excursion and the guide and driver both incredibly professional and knowledgeable - highly recommend!

Mario and driver were very good and saw Sloths hidden in trees as we traveled down the highway! We stopped and got pics and then went into the rainforest and saw monkeys - both white-faced and Howler. Then went to Ft. Lorenzo which fought many battles with pirates trying to raid Panama. It was interesting and then when some were ready to return and others were ready to see the canal, he had the driver take those who wanted to return and he stayed with those who wanted to see the canal viewing. Good tour
