Stop At: Meryemana (The Virgin Mary's House), Sultaniye Mahallesi, Selcuk 35100 Turkiye
Our first stop is the House of Virgin Mary. The House of Virgin Mary is located on the Aladag Mountains 5 miles away from Ephesus. At the third Ecumenical Council on 431 AD in Ephesus, it was claimed that Mary came to Ephesus with St. John in 37 A.D. and lived there until her death in 48 A.D. After the discovery of the house, the Archbishop of Izmir declared there as a place of pilgrimage in 1892. On July 26, 1967, Pope Paul VI visited this place and prayed there

Our second stop is Ephesus Ancient City. We will start visiting one of the main highlights in Turkey, Ephesus, one of the 12 cities of Ionian League (an ancient Greek district on the western coast of Asia Minor) is located near Izmir. As a port city it was a major departure point for trade routes into Asia Minor.
Walk through history along marble streets lined with wonderful public buildings, among them the Baths of Scholastica, the Library of Celsus; it was built in the beginning of the 2nd century A.D. by Gaius Julius Aquila to be a memorial to his father Gaius Julius Celsus Polemanus, the proconsul of Province of Asia. , the Temple of Hadrian and The Grand Theater are two of the most impressive buildings in Ephesus. Grand theatre was built in 3rd century B.C and it was later expanded to 24.000 spectators by the Romans in the 1st century A.D.

Stop At: Ephesus Terrace Houses, Selcuk 35148 Turkiye

Terrace Houses is located on skirt of Pion Mountain. There are 6 residential units which were built on three man-made terraces. These houses were settled by wealty citizens of Ephesus. These houses were very fancy decorated with wall frescoes and floor mosaics. There are many steps to ascend from bottom to top.
Attention Not recommended for people who has walking difficulties and acro-phobia (fear of heights).

Our last stop is The Temple of Artemis where used to be one of the seven wonders of the ancient world as our last stop before drive back to Kusadasi town center and port

Tour to Mother Mary’s house is memorable. Our guide is knowledgeable and gave us some background on this special place. I had goosebumps while listening to him on how this place is believed to be Mary’s home and the acknowledgment sent by the Popes from Vatican.

Taz was an excellent guide! Great narration with an appropriate level insight. Modified tour to include a lunch instead of Terrace houses…meal was fabulous selection of Turkish delicacies in a lovely garden. Certainly one of the highlights of our cruise!

Booked via Viator. There was some changes of our destination date due to bad weather in other port of call. I contacted the tour operator to inform them of the changes of the arrival date and they were so accommodating, reliable with excellent service and been told that they will meet us on the changed date. We docked in Kusadasi, Turkey day after we were booked and we were greeted by our tour guide Selda. Tour operator is very flexible, excellent service and VIP treatment. Our tour guide Selda is highly recommendable, very articulate, knowledgeable, very kind and attentive to our needs, incredible, best tour guide I ever meet and I can rate her 11 out of 10. Congrats Selda.

All of it! Visiting the house of Mary was so moving. Loved the history lesson in Ephesus as well. Our tour guide, Emre, has as amazing!!!

While the tour delivered on its itinerary and the pricing was quite favorable, the tour lasted over 7 hours, notably with an inappropriate hour at a leather outlet that included a “private” fashion show.

We had an amazing tour with Ilgu(I have probably butchered her name)! She was full of very interesting information and tailored our tour to our interests. We beat the crowds with an early start, and as we finished a little early she took us to a Rug Coop that had carpet weavers making carpets . There was a demonstration of how silk worm cocoons were transformed to threads. All very fascinating!
Our driver was wonderful and the vehicle was clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this tour for visiting Ephesus (and don’t miss the terrace houses)!

This tour was for a group of 4. Our specific requests were built into the tour and It was very efficiently organized - went like clockwork. Our guide, Melih (spelling?) was incredible - highly knowledgeable and explained all aspects very clearly - truly impressive.
Local lunch was marvelous and at a very reasonable cost

What an amazing experience. Fati was our driver and very responsive. Ersan was our guide. He was punctual, funny, informative, friendly, curious, and a font of knowledge. No question was too "dumb" and he knew so much history-Greek, Roman, Turkish, Biblical-that we were astounded. He gave us plenty of time to view and take in the sights.
What a fantastic tour.
