Stop At: Piazzale Michelangelo, Viale Michelangelo, 50125, Florence Italy
After visiting the historic center, having traveled on the banks of the river, crossed the bridges, given the majesty of Palazzo Pitti and the small artisan shops of the Oltrarno district, it is time to climb the hill and see Florence in all its splendor from a unique vantage point: Piazzale Michelangelo.
Duration: 10 minutes
Stop At: Piazza Santa Croce, Piazza di Santa Croce 16, 50122, Florence Italy
Once you get off the Piazzale Michelangelo it is time to go back to the center, but before the tour comes to an end we will once again pass by the river, in front of the National Library and the enchanting square of Santa Croce.
The Basilica of Santa Croce located in the square is the principal Franciscan church in Florence, Italy, and a minor basilica of the Roman Catholic Church. It is situated on the Piazza di Santa Croce, about 800 meters south-east of the Duomo. The site, when first chosen, was in marshland outside the city walls. It is the burial place of some of the most illustrious Italians, such as Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli, the poet Foscolo, the philosopher Gentile and the composer Rossini, thus it is known also as the Temple of the Italian Glories.
When Stendhal visited the Basilica of Santa Croce he was overcome with emotion. He wrote:
I was in a sort of ecstasy, from the idea of being in Florence, close to the great men whose tombs I had seen. Absorbed in the contemplation of sublime beauty ... I reached the point where one encounters celestial sensations ... Everything spoke so vividly to my soul. Ah, if I could only forget. I had palpitations of the heart, what in Berlin they call 'nerves'. Life was drained from me. I walked with the fear of falling.

This tour was a wonderful way to see lots of major sights in Florence within a limited window of time. I booked the tour to allow a senior with mobility issues in our group a chance to explore this beautiful city. Alex, our guide, was friendly and knowledgeable, and we always felt safe with him navigating the busy streets. Highly, highly recommended!

Sebastian could have cancelled our tour as we were the only 2 signed up but instead took us on a fabulous tour of the city. He gave cultural and local information about the different sites. He knew so many people in the local areas that he said hi to which was a bonus. He took us to areas with great photo ops and showed us some of his favorite local shops. He was very accommodating and had a wealth of local knowledge. Thank you Sebastian for a great trip! We will look you up next time we are in Florence.

We viewed the regular hot spots in the piazzas near the duomo and then the bridges of the Arno. But crossing over to get the panoramic view of the city from the opposite hill was fantastic. Rodrigo was great, friendly and informative. Not a constant stream. But very good information for all the places we stopped. Also suggestions for other lesser know gems!

Horrible,,,,Absolutely Horrible experience.....for $129 US... It should be $20US.. First of all it was a total cluster with the directions TripAdvisor provided. The location was a shut down-run down closed Bistro with construction equipment blocking the space....we requested an English speaking tour, the driver that showed up could barely speak English "yea..yea" is the extent of his English......We booked the tour for two and we were put with another couple with no option to face forward making it hard to view what was being spoken of during the tour as we were facing aft. The ride was horrible and the shocks of the golf cart were nonexistent .....just unbelievable......you are better off walking the same path and enjoying the sights take your time,,, it seemed the driver was in a rush the whole trip.......Horrible Absolutely Horrible......

We thoroughly enjoyed this golf cart tour. Sebastian was a delightful guide and, knew all the “secret” spots to stop. The highlight was the Piazzale Michelangelo, with phenomenal views of Florence!❤️🇮🇹

We loved our driver Vinnie. The tour was a fun and relaxing way to see the highlights of Florence. The prerecorded narrative was fine, and Vinnie added a personal touch. We loved the view from the piazza Michelangelo while sipping a fresh Aperol Spritzer. Would definitely recommend.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and did a good job showing us the sights. I rated it 4 because our tour was to start at 2:00 and we waited 15 minutes for some others to come but they never showed.
