From there we proceed to the Bo-Kaap (Cape Malay Quarter) for a photo opportunity with colourful houses. Your tour guide will inform you about the colourful houses and their historical meaning. Taste the Cape Malay traditional eats such as samoosas and koeksisters, which can be purchased from the local informal traders.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Table Mountain National Park 8001 South Africa

We travel to the Table Mountain Cableway Station where we will take the cable car to the top of the mountain to explore. See Cape Town from the top of one of the 7 Wonders of Nature, also one of the most iconic mountains in South Africa.

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Camps Bay, Camps Bay, Western Cape

We take a scenic drive along the Atlantic Seaboard with the mountains on one side and the ocean on the other, passing through Three Anchor Bay, Bantry Bay, Clifton and stop in Camps Bay. Maiden's Cove is the perfect spot for you to create memories with spectacular photos as you marvel at the magnificent views of the Twelve Apostles and Camps Bay beach.

This cove is one of the best places in Cape Town to take panoramic photos of the Ocean, Camps Bay Beach combined with the views of Table Mountain, Lion's Head and the beautiful suburbs of Clifton, Camps Bay, etc... We call this the Kodak moment.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Hout Bay, Hout Bay, Western Cape

Travelling along the Atlantic scenic seaboard we will pass through Llandudno, famous for some of the most expensive real estate in South Africa, until we get to Hout Bay. Arriving at Hout Bay harbour, you will have the option to either take a 45-minute boat cruise to Seal Island to view the seals or you can do some shopping at the market.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Seal Island, False Bay South Africa

Should you choose to take the optional boat trip to Seal Island, the duration will be 45-minutes. This excursion is weather-permitting. Please take along a light jersey because the temperatures tend to drop when we are at sea. Note that we will not disembark at Seal Island but will remain on the boat and view the seals from there.

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Chapman's Peak Drive, Hout Bay Road Between Noordhoek and Hout Bay, 7872 South Africa

Departing from Hout Bay, we drive along Chapman's Peak and stop at the viewpoint for spectacular photos. You will soon see why it is little wonder that Chapman's Peak is one of the most scenic routes in the world.

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Noordhoek Farm Village, Corner of Village Lane & Noordhoek Main Road Chapman's Peak Drive, Noordhoek 7979 South Africa

We continue our coastal journey with an optional stop in Noordhoek, with the breathtaking views of Noordhoek and Long Beach beneath us. Travellers will have the option to enjoy some of the best coffee roasted in Cape Town at the Village Roast (for their own account).

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Cape Point Vineyards Tasting Room, Silvermine Rd, Noordhoek 7979 South Africa

An optional stop for wine tasting at the exquisite Cape Point Vineyards will be offered. Surrounded by beautiful vineyards and views of the ocean in the distance, Cool breezes from the sea make for a slow-growing season, with a late harvest that results in a truly unique Sauvignon Blanc that is recognized across the globe for its rich minerality, structure, and tone. An optional sit-down lunch in their restaurant or a picnic lunch overlooking the man-made dam comes highly recommended.

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Cape of Good Hope, Cape Point Rd, Table Mountain National Park 8001 South Africa

We explore the Cape of Good Hope and take our iconic photo with the Cape of Good Hope name board. Here we will also explore the Dias & Vasco Da Gama monuments. There are also beautiful beaches that you will see along the way, as well as various fauna and flora.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Cape Point, Cape Point, Western Cape

From the Cape of Good Hope we will drive to Cape Point. Arriving at Cape Point we will have a choice between a 15-minute hike or take the Flying Dutchman Funicular to the Cape Point Lighthouse. Here we will also explore the most south-western point of Africa, known as the Cape Point, where the cold Benguela from the Atlantic Ocean, meets the warm Agulhas current of the Indian Ocean.

The Two Oceans Restaurant is also a good option should you wish to have a sit down lunch if it is open. Alternatively, there is also an informal eatery where you can buy a light lunch takeaway.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Boulders Beach Penguin Colony, Simon's Town 7995 South Africa

Our next stop will be the Penguins colony in Boulders beach, where your guide will escort you to the viewing point to see some of the 2500 breeding pairs of African Penguins at close range. You may even find one or two of these enchanting creatures walking alongside you on the boardwalk.

Duration: 1 hour

Pass By: Muizenberg, Muizenberg, Western Cape

Our return route is past Muizenberg where you will see the coloured beach huts. The beach huts are used as changing rooms. These are reminiscent of the “bathing machine” of the 1800s, which was a cart-like structure that was wheeled down to the water’s edge, allowing the ladies to change into their bathing costumes.

Drop off will be back at guests' accommodation in Cape Town at approximately 18:00 pm.

This was our first time in Cape Town so we decided on this day tour and chose this one because of the many positive reviews. This was a private tour so it was just my wife and I and the guide. All of the stops were worth it so there is nothing I would have skipped. We were picked up at our hotel at 8:30 and didn’t return until 18:30. There were many stops and adequate time at most stops to see what you needed to see but not linger too long. I could go on about the stops but what really made the tour fantastic was our guide, Reuben. He was knowledgeable, respectful and very friendly. He provided much information throughout the tour, but gave us our own time at the stops which was very much appreciated. I would highly recommend Reuben if you can.

An absolutely fantastic day experiencing so much of what Cape town and the peninsula had to offer. Alfani, our driver and guide, was exceptional with superb knowledge of the various areas and history. Be prepared for an 8am pickup though (even though the booking says 8:30!). When he picked us up the mist was so thick he made the wise decision to start with Camps Bay rather than Table Mountain as we would have had no view! Seal Island was great and there were some lovely little shops to browse at Noordhoek (as well as great coffee at the Roost). Alfani stopped at many viewpoints for picture opportunities as well as giving us the freedom to spend a good amount of time at all the stops; we never felt rushed. Cape Point was great - take the short walk up to the top to the left of the photo op sign as you get fantastic views! The cafe at the lighthouse has a great range of hot and cold food which was very reasonably priced and great quality so definitely recommend the lunch stop there. The penguins were fabulous but be prepared for this to be very busy. It was helpful to be able to leave things in the car that we didn’t want to have to lug around with us. Table Mountain was definitely worth the wait as by the afternoon the cloud had cleared and we had fantastic views across Cape Town. Everywhere we went accepted card so no need for cash.
