Went with my wife and 3 kids (16, 18, 20) and had a blast. I recall it being much busier when my wife and I went before kids in 1998, but that was November, so it could be that April is a slower month for travellers. Entertainment was excellent and the food was great.

I hate to put a horrible review but let me explain. We came here 14 years ago and was one of our favorite things to do at the time. So we were looking forward to bring our kids and have that fun experience. First the vibes weren’t there, it felt like you were on the price is right; The host sounds like a female version of bob barker. They definitely cut back on staff, and were on a budget. During dinner time the my play pre recorded music for about 1 hour, the food tasted like cafeteria food. While your waiting for dinner to be over your getting bit by mosquitoes left and right so bring mosquitos repellent because the little shop they have doesn’t sell any. We wanted to leave but unfortunately we took a tour bus, when we asked to leave to wait inside the bus they asked why we were leaving I explained our reasons and they said the show should start in about 20-30 min. Mind you, you already been waiting for about an hour with prerecorded music. So we couldn’t end up leaving because our tour guide was not in the bus. When I went to go ask for him they asked us if we didn’t just want to resume watching the show that it would start anytime now. So close to 2 hours of no entertainment the show finally presumed for about 20 min and they saved the fire show for the last 5 min and the show is finally over. Honestly it was a waste of $500. I have a few friends going to Hawaii soon and I had to pass down my horrible experience.

Great music, excellent costumes and choreographed shows and good food. There was a lot of good humor and history summed up in the presentations. Minor nit, it seemed a little excessive to charge extra for parking at the event considering it is just a grassy field we park in and it is already a somewhat expensive evening. Adding a couple more dollars to the amount you pay for the event would go unnoticed and you wouldn’t feel quite so much like they were being overboard with prices. It would also speed up the process of getting into the event since they wouldn’t be collecting parking fees at the gate.

It was a successful event. I've been bringing groups for over a decade, and each time my clients thoroughly enjoy it. It would be great if they could reintroduce the pineapples that used to be on the table when guests arrived.

More like a variety show than a luau. I would recommend the Paradise Cove Luau. It was more authentic.
