Michelle is lovely. I haven't kayaked in a year due to shoulder surgeries and she noticed that I was kayaking with hunched shoulders and she gave me some pointers.
She's very knowledgeable about the Colorado River and conservation and the amount of work that went into building the Hoover Dam.
She looked after us. She took photos of us when we stopped at a beach and she told us that the ruins at the top of the hill was once a home for a group of men who were measuring the river to determine the best place to build the dam.
She was the best part of the entire day. Kind and lovely and funny.

For someone who cannot swim and is afraid of getting in deep water, this was an experience I enjoyed. I enjoyed every minute of it. I had my moments when I got scared but after a while, I felt like a pro. The instructors there was amazing, If you are away from the group, they would stay behind to ensure that you catch up with them. Everything there was a lesson and nothing but amazing. The tour was conducted by Michelle and Hayden. They picked us up from the requested pick up location and gave us some educational background on some sites that we went by. Furthermore, they took pictures of us and gave us snacks. We went on a mini hike and it was nothing but amazing. The kayaking was not too expensive. If you are thinking about it, I think you should go. It's worth the price and time. The entire kayaking took us 4 hours. I had on swim wear and water shoes to be comfortable.

Simply stunning! The cove was so beautiful, and our guide, Adam, was really knowledgeable and couldn't do enough for us. We had time to stop and get out of the kayak, to visit some of the local points of interest along the Colorado River (the site of the canyon workers' cottage for example), the cart and tracks that they used to wynch themselves across the canyon (still there) and we met Bonnie and Clyde, two of the resident ducks who have an excellent racket going on. Adam provided everyone with healthy protein snacks and water at the halfway mark, and whilst you're encouraged not to feed the wildlife, they were only too happy to pick up the odd crumb that made it into the water. The water itself is beautifully clear, very refreshing and the green reflection from underneath (caused by the algae on the rocks beneath you) really popped. My partner and I hired a tandem kayak, we hadn't kayaked before but it didn't take us long to get the hang of it. I would definitely recommend wearing a swim suit underneath so that you can have a dunk in the river - you'll be glad you did, and make sure you wear lots of sun protection as you may experience a slight delay getting into the cove, but as Adam said, there are worse places to have to wait in line! This activity was well worth the price tag, and one of my favourite Viator experiences to date. There are a few companies offering this excursion, but we used Riverdogz who were really awesome. Thank you Adam!

The tour itself was fantastic, great views, and nice guides. My husband and I had a tandem kayak and it was a pretty easy trip for us but we are experienced.
The reason I gave 4 stars has nothing to do with the tour guides, Hayden and Michelle. They were amazing. I docked a star because when I booked on Viator I picked a 9:45am launch time. When River Dogz confirmed the trip a few days before, they said I had a 9:50am pickup time. I didn’t pay it too much attention which is partially on me. When I finally realized what had happened, we just committed as we had also gotten texts saying that we’d be back by 4:30pm or much earlier. We had Tournament of Kings booked that night for 6pm so this made for a very tight day as when we did get picked up, they said we’d actually be back closer to 5-5:30p. It made for a more stressful day than necessary but it did workout and they dropped us off at our hotel first which was very considerate.
My suggestion would be to book through River Dogz directly and not through Viator to hopefully avoid this issue. Again, the trip and guides were fantastic, the scheduling error was really the only issue and it worked out. I had also wanted to do the earlier booking to avoid the heat of the day but luckily we didn’t burn and the day wasn’t too hot.

Tour Guide Hayden was amazing, The whole experience will be one of my favorite memories. We came to celebrate my daughters graduation from college and we would chose to do it all over again.

Our tour guide Preston was very friendly and always had some awesome fun facts for us. He kept it entertaining and enjoyable. The views and whole trip was absolutely amazing. I definitely recommend doing this with your friends or family or even by yourself. It became one of the best highlights of our trip.
