Pro's: Very experienced and knowledgeable guide. Friendly people. Real jungle experience. Range of jungle activities (boat tours, walking tours, swimming, dolfin watching, different types of jungle places, night tour). Con's: No contact from the organisation after booking via tripadvisor, it was up to us to find them and contact them in time. English language was very limited (he kind of made up for it with knowing a wide range of animal calls though). Limited amenities

Checks all the boxes for the typical issues you see with jungle tours - lots of small deviations from the written itinerary that added up to an overall fun, if at times annoying experience. Some cliffsnotes: * we were promised a tour in English, but if we didn’t speak Spanish at a a second language, communication would have been difficult. * lodge is just ok and might seem crappy to travelers from the US/Europe - no power after 9 pm for example, so I couldn’t use my CPAP machine 😥 * I signed up for 2 days/1 night but the business office told our guide 3 days/1 night and it took them a while to clarify that they could get us back on time for our flight out of Iquitos, even though I was pretty insistent that I needed assurance that we were on the right tour * BRING EARPLUGS OMG - we went to bed the second the lights went out at 9, only to be kept up all night by 1) an ayahuasca ceremony and 2) a f**ing rooster * The business guy kept trying to sell us ayahuasca, which if you know anything about that stuff, requires mental and physical preparation before tripping. No thanks. * On our boat trip back they sprung a few unscheduled stops on us for “people on another tour”, then told us we either had to pay to participate or stay on the boat. We opted to pay but cmon. Highlights: Julio was a pretty good guide. He was knowledgeable about the local plants and animals and treated us well. Helped us get beer too which I appreciated! Also the food was pretty great. I know this sounds like a pretty negative review, but in reality we had a pretty good time. It was one of those situations where you have a choice to either complain the whole time or just have fun, and we did the latter. The jungle was beautiful, the Amazon was interesting, and we took some nice hikes. Overall: worth the experience for the price, but I’m sure you can find better if you look a little harder than I did for a more professional tour operator.

Pros; -Guide (Klaus) was amazing. Local man who is very knowledgable. Got the opportunity to speak to several guides and theyre all locals from fishing villages. Super interesting to talk too. -The things we got to do was very cool. We got to eat the flesh of real cocao beans. Got to see snakes, spiders, monkeys and all sorts of flora. And go piranha fishing. Now how cool is that Cons; -We was taken to a restaurant near the tour operator in the morning, which we had to pay for. This is because we arrived too early. I asked multiple times prior if I could sleep in the lodge on arrival and was ignored. The answer is no you cant. You have to wait until the previois guests have left the lodge and the lodge is a few hours down river -At the start we was told we only have 2 days and 1 night but we can do whatever we want in that time. It was sad to hear that we needes to pay extra when we wanted to see monkey island and the lilypads. Especially when it says its included on the tour Overall we were looked after by the villagers (ps it is an ecolodge. No power outlets or anything-what I expected but you need to be realistic) So im happy. Just a few things that knock it down for me

Our 2 day trip to the jungle was a fantastic experience, all made possible by our guide Jimmy, whose knowledge of the plants and wildlife in the forest was incredible. He knew exactly when and where certain animals resided and had a keen eye for spotting wildlife. With him we saw many birds, animals and insects including pink river dolphins, and even had the opportunity to hold a baby sloth and interact with wild monkeys who climbed all over us. Jimmy was without a doubt vital to our enjoyment of the trip and made us feel excited by nature and comfortable in our surroundings at all times. We will certainly miss him over the rest of our time in Peru, along with the meals at the lodge, which were delicious! The only downside to the trip was the return journey on our final day, organised by the owner Carlos. We were told that we would be collected around 2pm but at 2pm were informed that the boat had not been sent and that it would collect us at 3:30. This would not have been an issue, but at 3:30 we were told the boat was further delayed. We spent the next 2 hours trying to flag down passing speed boats heading to iquitos unsuccessfully, eventually making it back to Iquitos around 8pm after a tricky journey in the dark. We were left unimpressed by the lack of pre-planning and organisation and unfortunately this was a bitter ending to our otherwise amazing trip.

We absolutely loved this trip with our guide Jimmy! We did the 2 day 1 night excursion, which was a perfect length of time to introduce my daughters to the rainforest. You will need boots, which you can buy at the port, and remember to take long pants and long sleeved shirts to protect from plants and ants. Jimmy is excellent with children. He guides them gently and with great patience. If you feel hesitant to enter the jungle with young kids, you can be confident with Jimmy as your guide. He is very informative and knowledgeable about the region, and will keep you very safe. The food we ate at the lodge was absolutely delicious. I can't say enough good things about the cooks there. Finally, if you see a friendly little grey terrier, we named him Dodger and we'd thank you to keep his name going :)

We saw pink dolphins from real close, and huge lily pads on the Amazon river, caught piranha while fishing, saw a snake, tarantula, tiny black monkeys in the jungle, got to dance with indigenous community. The food was made from scratch and was delicious! We missed the sunrise as it rained that night and was cloudy, but otherwise it was a Great experience! Our 10 y/o enjoyed everything. The blue swimming pool at the lodge was not cleaned the day we were there, so she could not swim. It was very hot and humid and beware the mosquitoes. We did not choose to go on the night trek for this reason. You need rubber boots and ponchos for sure, as you never know when it will rain, especially in the rainy season, which ends in June. Also take lots of bug spray with you. 5 stars to the tour guide, Jimy. He was just great! And tour operator, Carlos took care of everything! Would highly recommend Jimy. He speaks English. They arrange separate guides for english and spanish speaking groups, which is great! Our tour group was just our family of 5.

This was the perfect tour for us as it was our first time to the jungle. Our tour guide Jimmy was helpful and knew his way around the jungle and the jungle animals amazingly, he could spot them from a mile away! This allowed us to see many animals during the day and during the night hike! He was easy to chat to and very friendly!! We would love to return in a few years with Jimmy as our guide again ☺️ He helped us to take nice pictures and told us the history of the areas we were visiting. We will definitely be returning home with many stories for our friends and families. The food at the lodge was very delicious and the beds were comfy, the site was beautiful. The owners were very kind too. Muchas Gracias 🩷
