This is such an eye opening experience. It is very sad to see how these people live and it makes you appreciate life even more after this tour.

Absolutely fascinating learning about life in Kibera. Ismael was very friendly and even invited me into his home to show how he lived and to meet his family. He showed me the around the area and took me to the local school. It was an absolute eye opener and reminder to be grateful. Highly recommended

Kevin came and picked us up on time from our airbnb, we instantly connected talking about our organizations and how we can help out the children & people in the Kibera Slums. Kevin and his brother, Ismael were so friendly, kind and polite to my husband and I. This tour was such an humbling experience for us to witness the present living conditions and for the people & children to be smiling, happy and joyous spirits, so amazing! We felt welcomed from start to finish! We were invited to Kevin's Mom's home for African Tea & delightful conversation! We were invited to Kevin's home to meet his wife & youngest daughter, older children were attending school. We met with the precious children of the "Future Stars Development Center" and OMG!, that time spent with them & their teachers was the best ever!❤️❤️❤️ Our organization "It could be me" has decided to partner with Kibera Action to help with updated modern bathroom facilities for the school, to help with textbooks, to help with meals for the children and much more!!! With much love, appreciation and gratitude for Kevin, Ismael, Mom, Future Stars children and Teachers we thank you for this wonderful opportunity and we are looking forward to a partnership of a lifetime! In Him we serve! Amen and Amen!🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

The tour was indeed life changing as most reviewers stated,. Unfortunately we didn’t have “Kevin” as our tour guide and I was initially disappointed we didn’t get to meet this “angel” .. however, he did send his brother “Ishmael” and he was a gracious guide who led us around safely and invited us into his home. We also met his sweet wife and shared conversation about dreams for their young daughter. He then led us into the local school and orphanage where we met several individuals who were incredibly inspiring… I have to say their spirit and that of the smiling children living there has touched my heart forever . I witnessed their resilience, determination, and positivity which was is a good reminder of the power of the human spirit to overcome adversity.

A very important tour, coming from a country which doesn't have slums like this it was very eye opening to see how some people live. Government services here are lacking, and it is very inspiring to see how the people of Kibera have come together to provide water, power, healthcare, education and toilets to their community. Kevin and his brother Ishmael are great guides and will show you around many different parts of the slum, teaching you about life there and answering any questions you have. Online there is a bit of debate about whether these tours are ethical. From our experience, we see the difference Kevin and his family are able to make to the slum with the money they get from our tours, through creating businesses to employ reformed criminals, supporting the schools and supplying food to the hungry.

I think regular slum visits should be a necessity for every human, until the points slums no longer exist. We were picked up by Ishmael and he communicated clearly throughout. We visited some reformed criminals running a car wash, saw how water/electricity was provided to the slums, and visited Ishmael's home and met his wife and daughter. We then visited two schools, one of which doubled as an orphanage for those students without parents, and the other which had a not for profit sewing workshop on site. We also visited Ishmael's parents home, and his youngest brother was kind enough to treat us to a rap. The tour concluded with a visit to a bone workshop. I would happily go again, and it's good to know the funds are being put to good use. Don't worry or hesitate to book. You will be well looked after.
