Head inside the Swiss Museum of Transport with your entrance ticket and explore at leisure. The museum charts the development of rail, air, space, road and water travel with hands-on exhibits, simulators and multimedia displays. Your ticket gives you access to its key exhibition halls and areas, filled with more than 3,000 displays, making for a fun day out for adults and kids.
Visit the Aviation Hall to view historic aircraft and flying machines. The museum takes its exhibits to new heights with flight simulators that give you the rush of operating an airplane, helicopter, or hang glider.
When it's time to get grounded, walk around the Rail Transport Hall to see steam locomotives and model railways, and try your hand at negotiating tunnels, signals and bridges in train simulators.
Zoom over to the Road Transport Hall for the history of automobiles and to view 20 of the world’s most iconic cars. You can even turn into a crash-test dummy to experience a bruise-free collision in one interactive exhibit.
Other attractions include the Navigation Hall with its fascinating seagoing displays; the i-factory covering information technology; and the Swissarena where you can walk across a one-of-a-kind aerial photo of Switzerland that takes up an entire room.
Most people find two–three hours in the museum is sufficient, but your ticket lets you explore for as long as you like. For a supplement you can also visit the museum’s domed planetarium to witness its dazzling astronomical shows, and its Filmtheater to watch spectacular 3D and high-definition movies.

Very interesting and educational for both adults & kids. We got to experience the past, present & future of various modes of transportation in Switzerland. The museum is notably Switzerland’s most visited museum including rail, road, water navigation and aviation. Kids can spend the whole day here participating in different educational activities.

A good day out. The museum has a lot to see and do for all generations. Ticket prices are a little bit expensive especially if you want to add the planetarium and the film shows, but both are worth adding. There is also a cafe and a coffee / bar fir refreshments.

A tremendous museum of transportation and science bout Switzerland. I spent my most time in the aviation and railway portions. The aviation museum is fascinating and fun - great coverage of the history of air travel in the last century, with the best parts on 1950's and 1960's travel. Railway section also very good, with an emphasis on locomotives. A good days visit.

I'm a car guy. I love anything about cars, so how could I not go to the Swiss Museum of Transport?
I was disappointed. There are pavilions devoted to cars, planes, trains, boats--but the exotic/interesting cars were mostly on a multistory display along a wall. Random cars would be brought down by robots for us to see--but from afar, with no history, context or detail. I actually found the display about planes to be most interesting, inclusive of a candid discussion of the tumultuous history of the Swiss airline industry.
The exhibits are kid friendly--very kid friendly, and the children were everywhere. They seemed to have a good time. This adult would skip the museum.

Caught bus 6 to get to the museum. This place is huge. Separated into many different area, and all areas are so interesting. You could spend a week here and not see everything. Went from building to building and then to see the outside items. You see car, trains, airplanes, things from the past and from the present. So interactive, with lots of places for you to get to play games or learn how to land a plane. Kids were having a wonderful time with all the things to do and see and adults would be interested in all the exhibits and so much information in German, English, and I think maybe French. We were able to see so much and really enjoyed the entire museum. Think there was a movie, but we ran out of time so we only saw the museum.

I would highly recommend a trip to the Swiss Transport Museum. There is so much to see and do here, you can spend a whole day. We went as a couple but there were lots of families there and loads of stuff for kids to do. I was impressed by how many interactive exhibits they had, which were very fun. And of course, don't miss the Lindt Chocolate ride and the chocolate tasting in the shop! We didn't have time to fit in the theatre but wish we had.

Expecting great things after reading the museum’s lofty ratings across online platforms, the experience failed to measure up. The lack of air conditioning in the sweltering heat of a Swiss summer day made the experience miserable, but we tried to look beyond that to provide a reasonable assessment of the exhibits.
The displays are sprawling and offer incredible variety. But few aspects were truly memorable. Highlights of rare items include entire planes and trains, Felix Baumgartner’s suit utilized for his record 24-mile skydive in 2012, the passenger cabin of a zeppelin, and the section of Sim World downstairs with unusual contraband confiscated at Zurich’s airport. A glassed escalator that shows the inner workings of the mechanism was possibly more interesting than the nearby cars on display. The rest was rather boring, but the heat inside these poorly ventilated buildings is what made it most uncomfortable.

This is my second time at this museum and I find it just as enjoyable. The museum is divided in a section for train, automobiles, with a few bicycles, boats and airplanes. I enjoy most the train section with the famous crocodile but all are informative. It would be great with children as there are many activities specifically set up for them. The only drawback is that the museum is quite expensive. My son and his wife did a VR simulation on climbing the Matterhorn. The experience was good but very brief for the cost.

So we felt odd walking around what we were told was a children's museum, but we were very impressed by the size, quality and complexity of this museum. We adults loved it all. The younger kids and teens seemed to have fun. But I've never seen anyone have as much fun as the 7-10 year old's just going nuts on the many many elaborate interactive experiences.
The only transportation museums I've been to that compared was the Henry Ford Innovation Museum in Detroit and the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center Smithsonian Museum at Dulles airport (not the small Air and Space Museum on the mall in DC).
