After check-in board the vessel, grab a coffee or tea, a Danish pastry, fresh fruit & settle in. After just over an hour we arrive at our first Great Barrier Reef destination - the beautiful "Wonder Wall " on the outer edge of Upolu reef. Snorkel, SCUBA (extra) this stunning reef site teaming with fish and marine life. Experience an informative complimentary Glass Bottom Boat & Adventure Drift Snorkel tour with our very attentive guides. After a morning of activities enjoy a large scrumptious lunch as we cruise to Upolu Cay. Snorkel this "coral garden" tropical oasis - look out for turtles & sting rays! When conditions allow you can even land on this glistening white coral Cay! Enjoy six hours of snorkelling, relaxing between these 2 uniquely different reef sites. After a magical day we return to Cairns serving fresh fruit, cheese and crackers and cake arriving back in Cairns by around 4.15 pm . Our Marine Guides will enthrall you on a reef and marine life discovery on an a highly informative and engaging Adventure Snorkel Tour and Glass Bottom Boat Tour at our two unique Upolu Reef sites - "Wonder Wall" on the Outer Edge Upolu Reef and our "Aquarium" coral garden reef site amongst the beautiful shallow, azure coloured waters of Upolu Cay Reef. These sites are in Marine Park highly protected zones where no fishing is allowed, hence the abundance of fish and marine life. Come and find your favourite Hollywood Nemo character! With 6 hrs of actual un-rushed reef time you have plenty of time to do both complimentary activities and continue exploring yourself under the guidance of our attentive crew!

Ocean Freedom travels to two Great Barrier Reef sites - "Wonder Wall" on the Outer Edge of Upolu reef (a truly magnificent snorkel and dive site) and Upolu Cay Reef - a beautiful shallow turquoise coral garden site.
Upolu Cay site is truly magnificent - picture a coral garden reef with lots of colourful reef fish darting in and out of the staghorn coral as you snorkel in these crystal clear shallow waters surrounding Upolu Cay. Look out for turtles popping to the surface for a breath of air, stingrays eagerly scouring the bottom for food. Sometimes you can stand thigh deep on the Cay in the middle of the ocean, other days we can land on this glistening white beautiful coral cay - each day a little mystery of nature but always we have the stunning turquoise waters to snorkel in and around this magnificent Great Barrier Reef area.

If intending to take part in diving all divers (whether certified or introductory diver) will be required to fill out a diving medical questionnaire on board. If diving is an important option for you, please advise if you have any medical issues (past or present) or taking any medications so we can advise if any QLD diving medical clearance is required. Some medical conditions and medication may preclude you from diving. It is imperative for your safety that you answer the questions on the form truthfully.

We took our 3 kids (youngest 12) out with Ocean Freedom to see the reef and all do our first introductory scuba dives. We had the best day. The reef, boat, snorkelling and scuba were all amazing, but it’s the crew who make the day. The boat only takes a small number of people and the crew go out of their way to make sure everyone is having a good time. The scuba instruction was excellent and one of my most treasured memories will be snorkelling along after the kids watching them do this for the first time. So proud of them and grateful to the crew for making it such an easy and stress free experience. We’ve been to the reef on one of the larger operators with their own pontoon before and this is so much better. We’d definitely recommend.

We recently participated on a Ocean Freedom Great Barrier Reef cruise. What impressed us was the professionalism of the hard working staff. Top marks for the skipper and his crew. Friendly,hard working and organized. Our weather caused the water to be a bit choppy while at the reef and did impact the visibility to a small degree. It was a sobering experience to see the effects of recent extreme warm ocean temperatures on the health of the reef. The bleaching we saw was eye opening.
We found the food to be plentiful and tasty.
The only negative was that, despite the fact that we are very experienced snorkellers , we were put with beginners and made to hold on to a life ring and be towed about by a guide. Other participants with snorkelling experience were allowed to go short distances on their own as long as they were in pairs. We felt that our age ( 60s) was a factor in being grouped with novices who had no idea how to snorkel and kept kicking us and hitting us with flailing arms. We did ask numerous times to be allowed to go off a few meters on our own but our requests were ignored. We were disappointed at our lack of freedom as snorkellers who have had many independent snorkelling experiences in Hawaii ,the Caribbean, Florida, Mexico, etc.

Fantastic day with fantastic crew! I was nervous to snorkel due to the swells but the staff was very calming and accommodating. Edwin and Amber were superstars! Saw everything from a shark to giant clams and turtles. What a great experience!

The Ocean Freedom team were amazing - they took great care of everyone and made sure our family of different abilities all got to enjoy the reef. We didn’t choose a day with great weather but the experience was still phenomenal and the team made sure we saw two different amazing areas on the reef. Completely recommend

Brilliant team that went above and beyond for all (including the lads that couldn’t swim..) had the greatest time returning to the reef after many years.
Next time I shall get a refresher and chuck a tank on. Top notch service guys.

Highly recommended! The crew and service were absolutely amazing. As a poor swimmer, I was unsure about the snorkeling experience, but thanks to Charlotte and Amber, who were with me throughout, I had an incredible time! Their hospitality, food, and vibrant energy were so positive. I'm so glad I chose them! It was a special memory created with my sister!

The day was absolutely AMAZING! The staff on board were all friendly, accommodating and made the trip so fun. They made sure to give everyone the best day they could. We got to explore beautiful reefs and we were so lucky to be able to see and swim with turtles, we saw sting rays and from a distance saw a tiger shark. If you’re going to book any tour to the reefs, this is number 1. Couldn’t recommend this tour enough!
