Stop At: Midhope Castle, Near Abercorn, South Queensferry, Edinburgh EH30 9SL Scotland

Midhope Castle is your next highlight. Unfortunately, visitors are unable to go inside the castle, but Jamie’s lovely Lallybroch home is still an essential photo opportunity for any fan of the show. Jamie’s family home, Lallybroch, is as lovely as it looks in the show.

*Please note that Midhope Castle is also closed for the following dates in November (2nd, 11th, 15th, 18th, 22nd, 30th) and December (5th, 9th, 11th, 16th, 19th). It then closes for approximately 12 weeks from Friday 22nd December at 3pm.

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Blackness Castle, Blackness, Linlithgow EH49 7NH Scotland

Blackness Castle entrance included in tour price.

The tough-looking castle looks like it could fend off an entire empire. And in Outlander, it impersonates Fort William.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Linlithgow, Linlithgow, West Lothian, Scotland

This pretty palace is a favourite of ours because of its connection to Mary, Queen of Scots. It’s also known for one of the most intense scenes in the Outlander series…

Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes

Stop At: Doune Castle, Castle Hill, Doune, Stirling FK16 6EA Scotland

Doune Castle entrance included in tour price.

In Outlander, it’s the fictional Castle Leoch. And in reality, it’s a stunning castle with a tall gate house, an impressive great hall, and lovely views of the River Teith.

**Please note that Doune Castle is closed from 8th January - 18th February 2024. We will instead take you to Linlithgow Palace. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Culross, Culross, Fife, Scotland

This 16th century village poses as Cranesmuir in Outlander. It also starred in the movies: Captain America: First Avenger and The 39 Steps.

Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes

This is another super sampler platter tour- while our driver and guide, Ian was an amazing navigator and storyteller, through no fault of his own… every stop was way, way too brief and rushed. Need to start this tour earlier in the day to allow for more time at each castle.

We would love to provide a review for our tour guide Laurie who we had on 5-14-24 out of Edinburgh for the full day outlander tour. Not only was she sweet, she was very easy to talk to and shared so much information on every location we arrived at. She was very knowledgeable on the history of the area and the historical sites we were at, along with the Outlander filming information. We truly enjoyed her and the stories! Thank you Laurie for making our vacation memorable! Xoxo Pam & Andreah
