We loved our experience swimming with sharks with IslandView! The crew is a group of laid back, local boys. They’re such a good vibe and they’re the only local-owned shark swimming outfit 💙
They even include pictures and videos for free 🤯🤯🤯
We ended up on their smaller boat since their main boat was being serviced, and it was still amazing.
A few tips:
-The sea on the North Shore is almost always a bit rough. We had 4-6 foot swells, and that’s considered very normal.
-be sure to take Dramamine or something similar if you’re prone to motion sickness.
-I urge you to make sure you’re comfortable swimming with a snorkel, even better if you can get some practice in beforehand.
-DO NOT use the elective floaties. If you’re a semi-decent swimmer you’ll be more than fine without them, AND USING THE FLOATY MAKES MOTION SICKNESS WORSE.
-the open water and sharks aren’t scary in the least. Your heart will be pounding before you get in the water, but you’ll quickly realize that it’s a very serene experience.
I made the mistake of using a floaty just to be safe, and I really wish I hadn’t. The sea is so salty that you float very easily, even on rough seas. Both me and my sister got sick, but we’re still so happy that we had the experience!

It was incredible to say the least! The crew were so nice, welcoming, and helpful! They ensured we had the most euphoric experience while still feeling safe and comfortable the entire time. Probably the absolute best thing we did while honeymooning in Hawaii definitely book this for your trip!

One of our top experiences in Hawaii.
The leader of our tour was very nice and was happy to answer any questions.
You will enjoy even if you're not an experienced swimmer or if you have not snorkeled in the past. Just don't expect amazing pictures of you, as they can't make miracles happen.
You might feel a little scared when you see the 1st huge shark but after that is all fun.

It was amazing to swim with the Galapagos sharks! Felt very safe. It was a small group a dozen people, and great to support a local family business. Nice people and always wonderful to get out on a boat and see the water and the Oahu island from a distance. Then go get an awesome snow cone up the street before driving back to Waikiki.

LOVED this! If you are concerned about swimming, don't be! Two people on my boat could not swim. If you are concerned that you can't snorkel, don't be! Four people on my boat had never snorkeled before. This was an incredible experience. We saw four sharks and you will be amazed!

My family really enjoyed this shark snorkeling trip. Everything went very smoothly from booking to the boat trip and shark dive. We swam with up to 7 sharks, it was a magical experience. I felt very comfortable and confident with the crew, they took great care of us.

Our experience snorkeling with sharks 🦈 with the crew from Island View Hawai’i in Hale’iwa was memorable from beginning to end, and thereafter as we continue to rave to our friends and family about our time with the sharks 🦈. We lucked out and had many sharks appear when we arrived to the swim spot about 3 miles off shore. We even saw barracuda! If you put your ears under the water, you could even hear the whales!! 🐳
The water was surprisingly warm, even during February temps. You’re in the water for a good 30 minutes, more time than needed! The guides educate you on the sharks and marine life before you depart the harbor and leave the end open to questions guests may have.
It was definitely one of the coolest experiences we’ve ever had, ever! If you're contemplating whether or not you want to book this amazing snorkel time with the sharks, just do it! Go and book it right now, you won’t regret it!
It’s a family run business for over a decade, all 3 of our tour guides were so knowledgeable about the sharks and marine life that I felt safe the moment we stepped onto the boat! The sharks really are docile and amazing creatures that every time we go back and visit Hawai’i. Regardless of what island we visit next, we will make it a point before we fly back to the mainland to go snorkel with the sharks with the crew from Island View Hawai’i before we leave.
