It’s a nice day trip. The glass factory in Murano was interesting. The two brothers make it look simple to create these glass works of art. After a short demonstration you are lead into their shops where you can make a purchase. Then off to Burano a sleepy fishing village with vibrantly painted houses and a fun tale as to why they are painted so. Walk around enjoy the peaceful beauty then have lunch at one of many restaurants in the main square. It was a very nice day trip. We spent most of our time at Burano.

I hate to only leave 4, because they were all so helpful and accommodating. I injured my knee the night before and they made sure we had a boat with a cat walk and even moved docks at one point so I could easily get on and off comfortably. Murano was wonderful and we chose to just “drive by” Torcello rather than getting off. And then we got to Burano. If we had just been let off and given a few pointers and told when to get back to the boat it would have been great. We just wanted to shop and sit in a cafe and have a biscuit. But the guide insisted we follow him. We went where he wanted, not where we wanted. Even with getting a biscuit, we saw several shops to stop at, but we stopped at his favorite so he could get some to take home. And we got them to go, because we couldn’t stop and eat them. So we finished seeing what he wanted us to see and got to where the boat was supposed to be, and no boat. We spent over 20 minutes with the guide calling and talking to people and trying to locate it. Finally we went to a bar and he got a cafe and then realized the boat was across the canal the whole time. So he went over to check and turns out the driver fell asleep with his phone on silent. And then leaving the dock he nearly hit another boat he didn’t notice when he bent down to do something and didn’t watch in front of him. The guide had to yell to him so he noticed. If we had stopped before Burano would have been 5 stars, when you are doing a private tour, ask people what they want to do!

Walking through Torcello. Would have preferred a little more time to explore on our own on its island and didn't enjoy being given a private audience for the glass blowing with a sales pitch thrown in.

We had a wonderful nautical trip!! Elisa was a wealth of knowledge and tailored the trip in real time to our interests. Murano was lovely - The glass factory- Luigi Moro- outstanding! Fabio, our guide was totally awesome. The glass making demonstration was fascinating as was the history of the glass industry in Venice. There was no pressure to purchase just a sincere enthusiasm for centuries of artistry and family commitment. Torcello was a Lovely green space with an unexpected Sacredness rich in history and Spirit! Loved the church there- Elisa brought it to life! We had to forgo Burano due to our other interests but Elisa provided plenty of insight as we cruised by the lovely island - top notch tour! - our captain was also flexible as the day unfolded! Would do again in a heartbeat!

This trip is a private tour by a tour giude who meets you at your hotel in Venice and walks with you to the private boat. There were only 2 of us on this tour plus the guide (Federico) and the boat captain. Federico was extremely knowledgeable and provided little side stories about the area around Venice. He walked with us and stayed with us at each stop - continuing with more stories. We went to Murano first to a glass blowing factory where beautiful, colorful pieces of glassware was handmade. Next we took our private boat to Burano to learn about lace making. Afterwards Federico walked us around the small village and we stopped for delicious gelato. The tiny little island is so quaint and picturesque with the very colorful old buildings and flowers. Federico is so personable and attentive when speaking with you. He cares about people and his home city of Venice and it shows in his actions. When we came back to the city of Venice he asked if we were hungary and walked us to a very nice restaurant and made sure we were seated right away and taken good care of by the staff. Very highly recommend him as a tour guide for an informative but relaxed tour.
