This tour was exactly as described and very fun. It was a terrific way to see some of the beautiful Portuguese countryside that would be very hard for a non-native to find and experience as this tour focused on more “off the beaten path” destinations. Andy was our primary guide and he was both knowledgeable and very personable. My only advice would be to pace yourself - the place we stopped for lunch (separate charge) was delicious and the wine tastings at these stops included more generous pours and nibbles than I am use to seeing at vineyards in the US. We struggled to finish our last glasses and snacks at the final stop, which was a shame! Our guide also deserves 5 stars for being so sweet and kind to the two tipsy Americans and 2 charming and also tipsy Brazilians on our drive back to Lisbon. I am writing this review sober now, so I think I can be trusted when I say it was worth the money!

Great tour! Wine tasting at two places were great and the tile factory was very good. Our tour guide pako went above and beyond to give my husband and I a great tour.

The tour gives you an opportunity to see areas outside of Lisbon and learn about them but it is not as advertised, in particular if you select a private tour. Pick up was late by a half hour without notification, what was booked as private was not, all stops were with others and our transport in and out Lisbon was with another couple, the itinerary advertises 3 wineries yet visited only two and no market visit. The restaurant they took all of the participants to was okay but expensive for the offerings. A market lunch would have been better suited to offer variety and to minimize wasting time. An enjoyable day but reflecting on it does not seem worth the price paid considering the differences from what was advertised for the “private” tour.

We had a bad experience with this tour company. They did not reach us to tell us that our guide was ill so we were picked up an hour and a half past the time on our ticket. We were cramped into the back of another family’s private tour car and after a thirty five minute drive we were handed off to another guide who was driving an old, dirty van. The guide did his best to improve our experience but it was not a positive day and I would not recommend this company.

This was a perfect way to explore Arrábida! We had wonderful wine, food and landscape! I wish we had the opportunity to go back to the market at the end of the tour to be able to purchase local food including the fish and produce. Otherwise it was perfect! Rui was knowledgeable, and friendly

Antonio was the best guide and driver for our adventure. He arrived early and we left the city behind. The fish market was amazing, and the views around Setubol were very interesting as he knows so much about the area. We stopped at at tile producer to learn the trade and ordered a customed product to be shipped home. Next we then went on a very winding way up into the mountains and National Park. The lookout was nothing short of spectacular. Our next stop was for lunch and a wine tour at Jose Maria Da Fonseca. Thank you for such a fantastic day.

We had the very best, first day experience, in Lisbon, just by taking this tour! Andy was our main tour guide but Pedro picked us up and dropped us off and the two men tag-teamed and worked together. This was a private tour with Andy. Pedro hosted another couple whom we met up with throughout the day. The tour was exactly as advertised; we visited two wineries, a multi-generational tile business, the Mercado do Livravmento, the Castelo de Sesimbra-from the 15th century and several stops to admire the coastline. We enjoyed a delicious, leisurely lunch on our own. I highly recommend this private tour and if you should be so fortunate to have either Andy or Pedro as your guide, you too will give them both 5 stars!

Pedro was a fantastic tour guide who was very knowledgeable, engaged and attentive. Pedro gave us lots of historical and cultural information and was more than happy to answer all of our questions. Honestly, I have traveled all over and Pedro was the best tour guide we’ve ever had. I plan to return to Portugal and I will definitely request Pedro as our guide.

This tour did not include several of the activities described and outlined in the details. This was billed as a wine and cheese tasting in the Alantejo region. The details indicated that it would include stops and tastings at two wineries plus a visit to Fonseca. In fact, while the Fonseca visit occurred there was only one other stop at a “winery/farm” where the guide indicated that a “Portugal wine testing” is essentially drinking wine from bottles provided. At the end of the day we essentially tasted only 2 wines all day (other than Fonseca). The cheese tasting took place at the one winery and amounted to a small plate of some tasteless crackers and one type of cheese that was neither identified or named. In addition the tour started and ended by being picked up in a too small vehicle for six people including fellow travellers who were large. The result being me squished into the middle seat between the door and the fellow guest with no access to a full seat or a seat belt. I will be requested a full or partial refund for this tour which, due to our travel itinerary, resulted in us not getting to taste Alantejo wines which was the primary reason for booking this tour.

We spent a full fun day with our guide Antonio visiting a local indoor market, a private tile workshop and wineries. The scenery was great, we had lunch at a restaurant by the sea side (lunch not included in the tour), visited a couple of great wineries. Antonio was a very good guide, full of enthusiasm about showing us around in the Arrabida region of Portugal. Would highly recommend.
