Stop At: Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, W.D.T. 200 Sabah Wildlife Department, Sepilok 90000 Malaysia
Our tour guide will pick up you around 8am from your hotel or Airport. Head to first stop at Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. It was established in 1964 to return orphaned "apes back to the wild". The centre was being administered by the wildlife section of the Forestry Department which in 1988 was upgraded as a department under the Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Development. All administration and management was given to the new Wildlife Department of Sabah. At 10:00 am Proceed to Platform B, observe man's closest relative a 'the Orang Utans being rehabilitated to become wild in their natural habitat and experience a walk in the Tropical Lowland Dipterous Forest of Borneo and later watch a 25 minutes scheduled video documentary show.

Stop At: Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, Jalan Sepilok located in Sepilok, Sandakan 90000 Malaysia
Then move on to Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, promote sun bear conservation in Borneo through animal welfare, conservation, rehabilitation, education and research - giving captured sun bears a better home and restoring their right to live in the wild, by A Creating the capacity to confiscate, rehabilitate and release suitable orphaned and ex-captive bears back into the wild & providing an improved long-term living environment for captive bears that cannot be released. Educating the public and raising awareness about this species. Achieving increased protection for sun bears and their habitat through ongoing research, increased knowledge and awareness, and further protection of habitat.

Stop At: Sandakan Rainforest Discovery Centre (RDC), Jalan Fabia Kabili-Sepilok Forest Reserve, Sandakan 90715 Malaysia
Lastly, visit to Rain forest Discovery Centre. It is the gateway to getting to know the uniqueness and Importance of Borneo’s rain forests. Situated 23 kilometers from Sandakan Town and not too far from the Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre, the RDC’s main highlights are its exhibition halls, the Plant Discovery Garden, the Kabili-Sepilok Forest Reserve, environmental education programmes and a small lake for boat rides. The RDC also gives visitors a chance to get intimate with nature through its Nature Experience programme which includes a guided walk to the Plant Discovery Garden, Rainforest Walk and indoor/outdoor activities.
After finish above mentioned sightseeing we will Drop off you at Sandakan airport or your respective hotel (town area only).

A good trip to understand the Rain Forest and spend time with Orangutan and Sun bear in captivity, but free roaming.
The guide had knowledge about the park and its habitats. Lunch was fine.
It was not a full day trip, but about 5 to 6 hours including lunch.

Feeling like I was being stalked by a taxi driver (who had cancelled the previous days tour when we said that we wouldn’t use him because we had already booked. He then rocked up to the hotel to say he had done so now he would take us) he then turned up the next day to take us on this tour. I was really annoyed as I didn’t particularly like him and I didn’t like that he had taken it upon himself to dictate how we should spend our time in Sepilok. Even down to my travel arrangements, he was following me on Grab telling me that the taxi driver I had used didn’t have a good enough car for our journey and we should cancel and use him. The tour guide talked throughout the experience, we wanted an opportunity to see animals and that won’t happen when tour guides are constantly talking (we know this from other tours) it didn’t feel like a family day out at all.
I felt that this particular taxi driver ruined our whole trip to Sepilok and we returned to kota Kinabalu early because of it.
Eventually I had to block him on WhatsApp. He had taken my details from this company and proceeded to message me directly after a discussion in the taxi with my husband. We only realised when he said that he hadn’t given him my number.
Finally, the tour ended at 12pm, all of it done in less than 4 hours.
We were taken to a restaurant where it there was the same offer of food from the previous evenings offerings (just at a different place) of curried chicken, a fish dish and veg. I’m not looking for a host of offerings but to have a choice would be nice, especially as I have food allergies. He had to tell him over and over to just drop us in the city centre so that I can find something to eat, he just kept on telling me I can eat it, I was getting annoyed because I should be able to decide if I want to eat something or not rather than being a grateful animal served a plate of food he had offered up. He took us to the most inappropriate place, he just kept on telling me I can eat there and then go to that shop and he will drive. I just wanted to be away from him, I asked for the city centre and he took us to a market where people were just staring at us and laughing at us. We ordered another taxi who was shocked he actually dropped us off there. Worse time of my holiday.
Had I known, I’d have just done it myself. It would have been cheaper, would have spent the time as a family and maybe had seen something we went to see.

Overall the tour was fine. However we were disappointed in that it was promoted as a private tour. We were surprised to find that another couple was also on the same tour. They had some serious physical limitations and were very slow. As a result we could not do everything we would have liked. Therefore I don't think we got our value for what we paid for. Bad business practice.

We had a wonderful tour to see the Orangutans and Sun Bears. Only problem was that it was sold and ticketed as a private tour and there was another couple that we didn’t know with us , whose goals were quite different than ours

Great day. Our guide new to explain everything about the jungle and local wildlife and we were lucky to see many different animals on our trip. Lucky with the weather as well. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better way to experience sandakan since we only stayed for one day

The trip was incredible Agus and Siti were amazing hosts for the day, they looked after us like kings and we had lots of laughs as well. . They made us feel so welcome and comfortable and the day was w a let as described. Seeing the orangutans in the natural environment incredible. I couldn’t fault this trip and well worth the money.

Sepilok is definitely worth the visit. Great day out with the amazing Orang Utans. There was however no pick up at the airport by the tour operator, so we had to take a cab (Grab), which worked our fine in the end. Difficult communication with the tour operator (no immediate reply to phone calls, text messages, voice messages). In the end, I did get an immediate and full refund.

This was a wonderful way for my husband and I to visit all three centers in one day as we were unfortunately short on time. Our driver Agus picked us up at 8am as planned and together with our guide Siti. Siti was extremely friendly and she explained to us all about the Orang Utans and Sun Bears arranging our arrival at each center to coincide with feeding time and thus giving us a chance to see the animals at close range. The nursery in the Orang Utan center is particularly interesting. Lunch, a local chicken dish was delicious. We also managed to fit in on special request the Proboscis Monkey Center, a real treat. If I was to change anything I would possibly have spent less time at the Rainforest Discovery Center and more time with the Orang Utans. Overall a great day, thanks to our guide Siti and driver Agus.

Did the whole nature tour, on time and awesome English skills, made 2 additional stops for us- mall and war memorial. Lunch was great and was informative experience

Great experience. We saw orangutans and sun bears and also a bonus pit viper! Boys of 10 and 14 loved it! Weather was extremely hot and humid so be prepared.
