Pass By: Røvær, Norway
Røvær is an island group in Haugesund Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The islands lie off the mainland shore about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) northwest of the town of Haugesund.
The 1.4-square-kilometre (0.54 sq mi) Røvær islands have about one hundred permanent residents (2014), as well as seasonal residents and visitors who rent vacation homes, stay at Røvær Seahouse (Røvær Sjøhus) or the newer Røvær Culture Hotel (Røvær Kulturhotell). The permanent residents who are not retired support themselves principally through farming, fishing, employment at the express boat service, teaching at the island's local school, working at the salmon fish farm, or by commuting to work on the mainland.
During World War II, the island was occupied by German military forces, and there is still a concrete pillbox on Varden, the island's highest point.
Pass By: Feøy, Karmøy, Norway
Feøy is a small island group in Karmøy municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The 1.3-square-kilometre (0.50 sq mi) island group lies west of the town of Haugesund and the island of Karmøy, southeast of the islands of Røvær, and northeast of the island of Utsira.
The island has 49 permanent residents, plus a number of seasonal residents and visitors who rent vacation homes. The permanent residents who are not retired support themselves either through sheep farming, fishing, or by commuting to jobs on the mainland.
There is an old wharf on Feøy that was converted into the Feøy Brygge, a small meeting house and restaurant that caters meetings and parties.
During World War II, the Germans occupied the small island with troops because the area was an organizing site for resistance workers moving between Norway and Britain.

The captain and staff (Kathaleena) were very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the experience very much and encouraged you not to be afraid. The booth where you meet up is clearly marked and right on the pier. We were apprehensive not knowing what to expect especially in fitting in the gear that you wear. But that was no issue. They had big sizes.
The charming villages we visited had so much history. Go For It!

This was a fantastic excursion with a local company. Our rib boat captain was exceptional and we enjoyed an incredible afternoon on the water! And there was plenty of time left to enjoy the quaint town on Norwegian’s Constitution Day - with parade and all!

What a wonderful trip! The guides were lovely and informative, and this trip exceeded our expectations. We actually booked this excursion for a day earlier than our ship arrived in Haugesand and the company allowed us to come there next day, even though the mistake was 100% our fault. Very highly recommend.

Brilliant experience. Very well organized and run. Our guide was knowledgeable and professional (we felt safe!).
All equipment (dry suit and goggles) provided.
We lucked out with the weather as the sea was very flat, which meant we could go faster!
The only way to see the small islands.
Would highly recommend!

Amazing rib ride with a fascinating insight into local island communities. Excellent facilities to safely leave your belongings and full safety gear provided. Run by locals so try and support them as there are other companies trying to muscle in from outside who don’t have the same local facilities.

Pure adrenaline from the off. Great safety talk from the skipper. Calmly out as far as our ship then whoosh. 600 horse kicking us up the backside. We literally flew over some of the waves. Then you arrive at a little island where we gently cruised through between beautiful houses whilst being told about the history and life on the island. Out the other side then he gave it some gas, 42 knots. Again, part sailing part flying.
Next island, same routine cruised through, learnt about life on the island. Out the other side and 15 minutes of adrenaline back to port.
I would highly recommend doing the trip. Put any fears you have behind you, it's perfectly safe.
There are other companies but Viking Adventures is the only locally owned one so please support them.
