Before moving towards Cabo da Roca, You may want take a stroll through the historical center of Sintra. This is a good time to rest, lunch and try out some traditional regional pastries. Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of Continental Europe, is yet another great spot to take some pictures and feel the sea breeze.

Stop At: Park and National Palace of Pena, Estrada da Pena, Sintra 2710-609 Portugal
We take-off from Lisbon in the morning heading directly to the UNESCO-listed Pena Palace. The 19th-century Romantic palace is a wonder to discover and one you will not soon forget. It is one of the best places to take pictures. It’s placed high on top of the mountain with a splendid view that stretches for miles, all the way to the Ocean.

Stop At: Quinta da Regaleira, Rua Barbosa do Bocage, Sintra 2710-567 Portugal
The stunning Quinta da Regaleira is yet another UNESCO-listed site which has anciently carved buildings, incredible gardens and a gothic breeze that will enchant anyone who dares to enter. Full of history behind it, you will learn all about the caves, secret wells and art that originated from the Masonry, the Templars and the Rose Cross.

Stop At: Parque e Palacio de Monserrate, R. Visc. de Monserrate, Sintra 2710-591 Portugal
This magnificent property is a jungle of exotic trees and flowering shrubs. Its’ history dates back to the time of the Moors, but it was named after a small 16th century chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Monteserrat, from Catalonia, Spain.

Stop At: Sintra National Palace, Largo Rainha Dona Amelia, Sintra 2710-616 Portugal
In the heart of the village of Sintra, a pair of unusual conical chimneys rise above the Royal Palace. This Palace became the favourite summer retreat of the court and continued, as the residence of the Portuguese royalty, until the 1980s. The gradual reconstruction of the palace resulted in a fascinating amalgam of styles.

Although the steepness of some of the walks were a little difficult for me, the experience was great, thanks to our guide Menithe(spelling)? From Swingio. He was informative, funny and patient and got us around the huge crowds in Sintra. Thank you for the experience!

Miguel was a fantastic guide! His calm manner made it easy for us to relax and enjoy our day. He managed the logistics of our day in a seamless way, allowing us to linger where we wanted but also keeping us on schedule. He was knowledgable and provided additional detail when asked, his passion for Portugal and history is evident. We were amazed at the way he safely navigated the narrow streets. Miguel was very kind and accommodating to do whatever we wanted. My parents are slow moving and have difficulties with stairs and he took his time and drove us as close as he could to entrances.
