so glad we got the tour package! Our tour guides were fantastic (and very funny) and we got so much more out of this experience than we would have if we went on our own!

Absolutely worth it! We had Marika and Max for our guides. We got a very in depth and insightful review at Pompeii, had an opportunity to eat a very delicious lunch for only 17 euro per person, and had a decent amount of time to go up to the peak of vesuvius and take a look. I really recommend this over going alone, as you skip the large annoying lines, and get to stay cool on the bus.

Wonderful day trip from Sorrento. Tour leader Eugene was fabulous, very knowledgeable and able to respond to any questions. His communication was very clear. Driver Pepe was amazing navigating the narrow roadways especially to Mt Vesuvius. Thoroughly enjoyed the guided tour of Pompeii Archeological Park with Francesco. His expert knowledge ensured we gained lots of information and accessed the key areas. Mt Vesuvius was a challenge walking up & down on slippery gravel, but the view at the top was spectacular. Walking poles would be an advantage and there were some free ones available at the site.

Our trip was fantastic, monika was our tour guide at Pompeii and she was wonderful, informative and we didn’t feel overly rushed or pressured despite sticking to a two hour time frame. We took up the €17 lunch menu which was delicious and efficient on time, there were food stalls along the road but a giant pizza and ice cream and a can of coke for €17 is perfect! Don’t forget 50c coins for the toilets which are super clean. The hike up Vesuvius was challenging but so worth it for the incredible views, there are a few little trinket shops along the way which also sell drinks if you’ve run out by the time you reach the top (if it’s hot DRINK YOUR WATER) bring tissues and hand sanitiser though because the toilets are rotten and had zero toilet paper. Another amazing thing which I cannot guarantee for everyone on this tour was we got engaged at the top of the volcano 💕 so all in all it was a wonderful day and we highly recommend!

Eugene was great! Kept us organized with clear instructions. Helped facilitate lunch and made everything easy! Thanx you! Pompeii experience was truly remarkable The archaeologist knew all the places to go and want to skip and not spend as much time on. The engineering of that city and what happened to it is amazing. Weather was perfect! Other than the head sets having a lot of crackling noises the day was perfect! The hike to Mt. Vesuvius was a little bit of a workout but not bad. There with steam coming from the volcano. Beautiful views from the top!

The tour pick-up location was fairly central and easy to find. The guide (Eugene) was knowledgeable, friendly and kept the group on track time wise. The guide in Pompeii (Vincenzo) was super knowledgeable and helped us really appreciate the ruins and the history behind it. The climb up to Vesuvius is a touch steep (the first 2/3rd of it) but the view at the end and the wine on top is well worth it. A bit more time in Pompeii to explore on our own might have helped make the experience even better. Would still highly recommend this tour to friends and family.

My wife and I did the pompeii/mt. vesuvius tour on our 2nd day in Sorrento. After meeting our tour guide Mimi at Tasso Square office location, our group walked a few blocks to board a bus. Mimi was a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. The Pompeii portion was well organized and we had another great guide, Melania. For us the 2-hour tour was just enough to get a good overview of life in Pompeii, but you could certainly spend more time there (area is huge). The 17-euro lunch (optional) is nothing to write home about, but we were glad to get a table and also met a nice couple from Ireland. After lunch we were back on bus for an hour ride to Mt. Vesuvius. The day was rainy/cloudy, and we were told the day before that the summit closes for bad weather, and when we arrived that is exactly what happened: The hiking path up to the top had closed. Despite the weather not improving, we sat on the bus for about 30" as Mimi checked to see if the trail might reopen. I think this aspect of the tour could be improved: It seemed pretty clear weather was not getting better, so we would have preferred to just return to Sorrento rather than spending time on bus. That said, the tour overall was very good and I would highly recommend.
