Travel along the river to reach your destination in the swamps.
Stop At: Barataria Preserve, Marrero, LA
On this tour you will experience the best of both: a swamp tour and an airboat ride.You will travel at high speeds in the airboat then slow down and stop for pictures. Along the way, you will get a personal tour by your local Captain. These airboats have stadium seating, so that the person in front of you does not obstruct your view. Every airboat seat is great for experiencing the tour and viewing the wildlife. Yes, gators will get close, real close. So close that you will be able to look into those reptilian eyes.
Alligators do hibernate in the colder months, but the experienced captains know where to look for them. On average, during the winter, you have better than a 50/50 chance of seeing a gator. In the warmer months, you will always see a gator. Every New Orleans Airboat Tour is unique and you never know what will be around the next corner. The area toured is a combination of Swamp, Marsh and Lake. So you may see anything from a Bald Eagle to a Pelican to Osprey our even an Owl, its that diverse. The airboats are driven by a 454 Chevy Engine that will produce speeds of up to 35 miles an hour. They are propelled by a huge fan that will blow air from the back of the boat in excess of 200 miles an hour. These tours are truly a blast! They ride in inches of water and go places where traditional boats cannot go. The boats were designed to take you to inaccessible areas of the swamp, places that you cannot reach by foot or car. It is a unique experience.

Ian did a great job on our swamp tour. He was very informative and entertaining. I was so excited to take the tour and it didn’t disappoint. The area is beautiful, the gators were seen and all had a great time. 10/10 would recommend.

We chose the small group airboat tour with hotel pickup. Pickup was smooth and easy and the transport was led by friendly and helpful drivers. When we arrived we had time for a bathroom break, then picked up tickets and stopped into the shop for water and whatnot.
Our boat driver, Ian, took us on an excellent adventure through some truly beautiful scenery. We saw multiple alligators and plenty of gorgeous scenery while learning about the local flora and fauna. The boat ride felt quite safe in Ian's hands. We had a marvelous time!

A great, well organised trip from pick up at hotel to the return 5 hrs later. Rocky was a brilliant guide/driver and seemed to be able to charm the gators!

This was the most amazing experience!! They picked us up at our hotel, and the small group boat ride was well worth the money. It was fun exciting exhilarating, and our boat driver knowledgeable and fantastic!!

this was such a great experience i will never forget. the pick up and delivery were right on time and seamless. the driver was very entertaining. the tour itself was amazing. if you go in the airboat plan on getting wet. thats part of the fun as those things go fast! the captain of the boat was knowledgable and funny. knows his stuff. this is the type of tour that you can take each and every you visit new orleans and have a new and fun experience each time. im very happy we chose this tour. if i could give 10 stars i would

I appreciated the mix of environment with the animal behavior discussion. The swamp was beautiful and we got to see how wide and amazing the Mississippi River is first hand.

This experience was AWESOME!!! Did the small boat tour with Trey. He zoomed us through the bayou with skill - exhilarating! His knowledge of gators is extensive and his love and respect for them really shines through. We got up close to dozens of gators and saw a few real big boys! So much fun - I’ll do it again on our next trip to NOLA. Thanks Trey for a wonderful afternoon of adventure!
