St Barts is known as the Jewel of the Caribbean and you'll find out why when you sail there from St Maarten. You'll have free time to explore St Barts independently, take a guided tour, go shopping or just relax on one of the island's pristine beaches.

St Barts is just a 45-minute sail from St Maarten's Pelican Marina. Departing Simpson Bay, you'll arrive in Gustavia Harbor, the hub of activity in St Barts. Sidewalk cafes offer crepes and croissants for breakfast, car rentals meet the boat, the taxi stand is a few feet away, and boutiques are open for business. It is advisable to have a rental car or taxi arranged before arrival in St Barts. During the December to March high season, taxis are limited.

The exceptional island of St Barts has white sandy beaches, great snorkeling locations, great restaurants and a unique shell museum. It's a day guaranteed to entertain, crammed with sights and delights!

Enjoy lunch at a local burger shack, or go for fine dining at one of the exclusive beach side hotels. Many of the shops in Gustavia may close over the lunchtime period, so it's recommended to go shopping in the morning.

Check-in for the boat is at 3:45pm for the 4:00pm departure. Arrive back to Pelican Marina at approximately 4:45pm.

We got to the appointed area for check in by 8:00 as advised and were not allowed to board the Edge II until 9:00, so it was hurry up and wait. The guys on board were courteous and helpful and Captain Mikey was a pro at handling the rough waters and waves on the way over. A couple of people got sick but otherwise it was just a choppy ride. The crew advised us to shop before doing anything else due to shops closing in the afternoon. We stopped and had a delicious snack at Bar de L'Oubli which is on the main drag of Gustavia and asked the waiter who was very helpful about the best way to see the island. We asked on of the taxi drivers how much to take us around and he quoted $200 for one hour and he would not come down on price . We decided to rent a car which was around $80,00 for the day and what a deal! We went all over the island and the roads are not for the faint of heart just due to the elevations, but what a great way to see all of the island on those mountain peaks. If you don’t rent a car or scooter you will definitely be disappointed with your trip because Gustavia’s shops close up early for lunch and unless you go to a beach there’s not a lot to do. We still ended up waiting on the ferry for about an hour after returning the car. The trip back was uneventful and much smoother, all in all a great day trip from St. Martin. I have to say St. BART’s is one of the most beautiful islands that I’ve been to and see why it’s the rich and famous folks little getaway.

The ferry trip over was nice. There was a lot of scenery to take it during the trip which is about an hour! St. Barts was really nice! There were a lot of stores to shop and a large variety of restaurants. The tourist area (shopping area) is really nice. A lot more French speaking people in St. Barts. But most people there understand English well! Unless you're going to the beach, the whole tourist area can be seen in 2-4 hours. But the daytrip last 6.5 hours. I didn't give the trip 5 stars because we had to wait and waste about two hours before the ferry returned.

Fun and easy way to get to St Barth! The other reviews had me really nervous about sea sickness on the way over but I think it just depends on the day and the swells cause it was totally fine for me! I also love boats and go on boat rides many times a year and didnt think it was any different than a choppy day in the NJ bay. Definitely would recommend!

The trip over and the trip back. The crew was gracious and informative. Another 2-3 hours would have been helpful.

It’s a great day trip. Definitely recommend. If you are one who gets motion sickness….maybe not for you. The boat ride to St. Barth’s can be extremely bumpy over the water.

Our boat ride over was fairly smooth. The crew was attentive and was quick to give us refills. There’s lots of nice shops and boutiques around the marina. We walked to the beautiful shell beach. The water had a high visibility great for snorkeling along the cliffs. We did a quick 30 min walk to the airport to watch small jets fly right over us. The walk was steep but worth it. Fort Carl had beautiful views of the island and shell beach. We found a cantina restaurant close to the marina which had reasonable prices. Highly recommend

It was an easy process. We had a fairly smooth ride on the way over. Going thru customs was quick. Shopping and restaurants were easily walkable. Short walk to Shell Beach, which was very nice.

Crew was courteous and attentive. Time of departure was great, leaving from the dock back to starting point was an inexcusable delay.
