My boyfriend and I loved our tour guide Lily! We thought the entire trip was planned well; we spent just enough time at each stop to learn about the history and walk around for a bit before going to the next stop. The only thing I would recommend is flipping the itinerary stops; by the time we got to the pyramids (the last stop), the sun's heat was at its peak and there was no shade which was rough to stand out in for over an hour (this stop was two hours). Otherwise, we really enjoyed Lily's storytelling and I retained so much more information about the Spanish conquest and Mexico City history than I ever did from high school!

The tour was very fun and exciting. Our tour guide Alan was very knowledgeable in all the places we visited. If you decide to book this tour, I recommend bringing a lot of water, a hat, and sunscreen.

This is the realest review you'll need to make your decision. I would be wary of all the glowing reviews because this is far from what myself and other members in my tour group faced. 1) I arrived at the meeting point only to be told by the tour guide I was not registered on the list. I showed her my booking info and she went away to check and I was really nervous because I spent 45 mins ubering through traffic to get there. Miraculously, there was 1 space left on the bus. I can't imagine what would happen if I was not so lucky. 2) There are 4 stops in the trip, and 2 of them are gift shops. Incredible fleecing. Some of the items in the gift shops can be found on the streets for 5x less the price. We also wasted a combined 1-2 hours traveling to/from and staying at these places. 3) The English tour guide was...off. He did not smile once throughout the entire tour. He was very intense. The tour of Teotihuacán we spent 50 minutes of the 1 hour tour going through the old residential areas, and 10 minutes talking about the actual temples. I felt like I learned nothing about the history of the temples, when they were built, what purposes they served, and any other fun facts. We had an hour of free time to explore after that, but there are no boards to plaques to learn about the monuments. 4) Amigo Tours are VERY INFLEXIBLE. I missed my initial tour date because of a protest blocking the streets. They said I had to pay $22 USD to rebook. No exceptions whatsoever. I booked this tour based on the great reviews, but honestly my experience has been very, very subpar. A few people actually left the tour and just ubered back home instead of waiting for it to end. Amigo tours, I encourage you to reach out to me for further details.

This was one of the top highlights of my trip. The transportation was simple, the three stops were super interesting, and our tour guide Alicia was fantastic. She was funny and welcoming, and I learned a lot from her descriptions of the ruins and historical events. The pyramids of Teotihuacán are a must see and this tour was the perfect way to do it. Highly recommend.

This tour was worth the price! The guides Sal and Harrison did a great job of keeping the tour moving with so many people present. It was great to be able to get up close to the pyramids in Mexico City and the 2 hours spent at Teotihuacan was just the right amount of time to explore the pyramids there. The tequila tasting in between was also fun, although it was not as in depth as the guides said it would be. Based on what they were saying on the way to the tasting, it seemed like we would learn about how different types of tequila are made. However, it was just the tour guide of the tequila tasting place telling us the names of 4 different tequilas we were taking one shot of. It was still fun! And the food at the tequila tasting place was delicious. Would definitely come back with friends or family.

I loved everything about this tour - the archaeological sites, the history, the tequila tasting, and the well-organized tour itself. Just one word of caution - during the tour, you'll stop by for tequila tasting, and there'll be a gift shop there. The souvenirs and keepsakes at this shop are highly overpriced, and you'll be better off waiting to buy similar ones at the actual archaeological sites.
