Pickup Details
Pickup is 2-4 hours before your flight departure time. Exact time will be advised the afternoon prior to your departure transfer date. Our boat driver will meet you at the arranged boat stop along the Grand Canal. Your stop will be chosen as close as your Hotel as possible. Venice Airport Link operates from 4am to 7pm from designated Venice meeting points. Guests are requested to present themselves at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before departure time.

We booked a shared water taxi to & from Venice airport to the city, via operator Bucintoro Viaggi. All went like clockwork, and were dropped off & picked up within 100m of our hotel. It was a good experience in a quick boat across the bay to Venice, taking about 40 minutes. The route even had a cruise down the grand canal, and under the Rialto bridge. Pickup location & time was Email'd to the hotel the day before we left. The only improvement would be a little better directions to the Viaggi desk in the on the 1st floor of the airport.

We paid for semi private but they picked up 4 groups making us get up at 3:30am and go to airport 3 hours earlier than necessary.

Very rude staff!!! We wanted to buy a ticket at the boot since we in first instance bought the wrong one. They were not polite at all, yelled at us.

The transport was on time and very fast. Had us to the airport in plenty of time for our 6am flight. The driver was very efficient.

When I booked the airport transfer I indicated that we needed to be picked up at 8am. They said that would not be a problem. Viator sent me a confirmation but did not include the time. They said the provider would send me an email or phone call with the details. I did not receive any correspondence from the provider. At 9pm the hotel desk clerk brought me an email from the provider saying he would pick us up at 9:10am. That was not acceptable. I spoke to Viator and they attempted to get in touch with the provider. THey received no answer. We had to hire a private water taxi to get to the airport. I requested a refund which was denied. We will never use Viator for transportation.

We used Viator for over 10 activities during our 2 wks in Italy. All went extremely well except for this transfer. We did NOT receive the specific time and pick up location prior to the transfer as had been communicated. Our hotel called the local provider on our behalf. When the taxi arrived, there were no designations, markings or signage to differentiate itself from 100s of standard water taxis. The boat captain said our name otherwise we would not have known that taxi was intended for the airport.
Be advised that the waters to the airport can be quite choppy. We live on a lake so are used to boating. This wobbled our sea legs! May wish to consider a standard taxi.

It worked out well, even though we could not receive notifications because our phones would not receive text from the company, Viator stepped in and helped with our changes for pick up time.

Water taxi showed up early and didn’t identify themselves. Yelled what sounded like “Allen” twice and left when no one responded. No boat number or identifiable markings to indicate it was our taxi. With boats coming and going constantly there should’ve been more effort made. Had to call another taxi at twice the cost. Basically Viator took our money, provided no service, and now won’t refund our money. I’d recommend Viator not assume it’s clients are mind readers

The ride itself was fine. That said - The only communication was the afternoon before and it was sporadic - which made it very stressful. We were told we would be picked up 5 hours before our flight which was WAAAAY TOO Early. We tried to get a later pick up but were not successful. I think they tried to fit us in with another family (who rode with us) so that it was convenient for them (vs for us). I would recommend a private ride vs. this one.
