Meet near the Rialto Bridge and learn why it was initially considered a very bad idea to build it. Take a quick look at the Rialto Fish Market to learn about the long fishing history of the city and its famous cuisine. Get a couple of restaurant recommendations from your local guide!

Stop At: Cannaregio, Cannaregio, Veneto
Continue to the sestiere (district) of Cannaregio, home to some of the city’s hidden gems. Discover the house where Marco Polo once lived, and go to the unique Church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli. See a remarkable statue by Verocchio on the Campo San Giovanni and Paolo, where you will also see a variety of typical Venetian architectural styles. Meander through hidden alleyways, and hear tales of the city’s past.

Stop At: Basilica di San Marco, San Marco, 328, 30124 Venice Italy
Learn what it is like to live on the island today as you walk to St. Mark’s Square. Look inside St. Mark’s Basilica for a better understanding of how Venice built a mercantile empire that once spanned the entire Mediterranean. Gaze at exquisite mosaics and other treasures inside and hear how the city begged, borrowed and stole to grow from a tiny island to one of the biggest powers in the medieval world.

Stop At: Bacino Orseolo, 30124 Venice, Metropolitan City of Venice, Italy
Your guide will then leave you to enjoy a 30-minute (approximately) gondola ride with a professional gondolier. Limited to only 5 people per gondola, this experience will be both intimate and relaxing. Punt through the quieter canals of Venice as you relax and enjoy the city at its best!

St. Mark's Basilica can be subject to unforeseen closures due to particular liturgical celebrations. In the case in which the basilica is closed, we will give you explanations from the outside.
Gondola rides can be subject to unforeseen closures due to the weather, an alternate activity will be provided in those circumstances
A dress code is required to enter places of worship and selected museums. No shorts or sleeveless tops allowed. Knees and shoulders MUST be covered for both men and women. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements
Backpacks are prohibited inside of St. Mark's Basilica

This tour runs rain or shine. However, occasionally St. Mark's Basilica is closed to the public, without previous notice, due to high tides or particular festivities. In these cases we endeavor to contact customers as soon as possible to arrange a suitable alternative.
After your 2-hour exploration of Venice, your guide drops you off at the Gondola Stand for a relaxing gondola ride. The guide will not be with you on the gondola.

This city is becoming too busy…I feel terribly for people who live there! The tour was as good as can be expected…
But did not feel like a “ small group”
You get what you pay for.
Fortunately, we arrived early and meandered on our own ….and loved the small shops in a quiet area with actual artisans

Went on day trip out of Mian by train. Guide was local Venetian. Very passionate about her Venice, verging on sounding like campaigning for environment and unhappy about tourist when walking about town. Obviously knowledgeable and still enthusiastic about history esp when in the Basilica. Wish she was less angry.
Would be useful if some information was given during the gondola rather than silent ride.
Definitely worth a visit.

Our guide was efficient and knowledgeable. The tour covered the highlights and helped us feel comfortable exploring on our own afterward. It was also a huge perk skipping the long lines to San Marco cathedral and the gondola, especially in the rain.

Our tour guide was very informative and nice. He kept us to the timeline and was considerate of other pedestrians (told us to walk single file and stay to the right, which i appreciated bc many group tours are hard to navigate around). He is a life-long Venetian and his pride in his city was evident and admirable. The gondola ride was longer than i expected. I would recommend this tour!

Local knowledge of guide was invaluable. Made the tour fun and interesting. Internal Cathedral tours was an unexpected highlight. Was great that she mentioned when break was occurring and toilet options at the start of tour, saved people from having to ask or wonder. Highly Professional Guide.

Enjoyed the walking tour and visit to the Basilica. The gondola ride was good. It would have been nicer if our gondolier talked to us. He was on his phone and acknowledging every other gondolier we passed.

We booked this tour so that we could skip the line at St Mark's Basilica. Turns out the walking tour was our favorite part. Mateo grew up and currently lives in Venice. His insights and his humor made this tour outstanding. St Mark's Basilica was also of course astounding. The gondola ride was a lot of fun. There were 3 of us and we had a gondola to ourselves.

We had a great walking tour learning a lot of the history of Venice. Our tour guide, Giuliano was great, he grew up in Venice and knew the city well. He was funny too, which made the tour fun. It is a full 2.5 hours of walking, but worth it for a first time visitor to Venice.
