Wine tour to Stellenbosch & Franschhoek with Tastings & Lunch

What a beautiful part of South Africa. We did the tour with Basil and 10 others from around the world. The venues for wine tasting were excellent as were the hosts of the wine tastings. Our stop for lunch was beautiful as well. Would recommend taking this tour.

We were on tour with Basil and we enjoyed it a lot. Basil is a very knowledgeable guide who gave us many interesting stories on the way to vineyards. We visited beautiful estates, with fantastic sceneries. Vines were superb and plentiful. Food was delicious! Highly recommend!

This experience was fantastic. The scenery was beautiful, the lunch was fantastic and the wine tasting was good. But the trip was really made by our guide Angelo. We started as 5 small unfamiliar groups but left as one happy group. His style was funny, and relaxed, and he made it comfortable in getting to know each other. It was a very enjoyable day.

This tour is not to be missed! Lovely wine pairing in beautiful surroundings. Lunch was delish. Although it was a very long day it was well worth it. Our guide Bonga was the best.

Our guide , Ambrose, was exceptionally knowledgeable and very personable, he made the tour a great experience. The wineries visited were great.

Most of the day was lovely, however, although the grounds in the first winery were amazing the ones themselves were not appealing at all, with the general consensus from the guests was the least favourite of the wineries. The cheeses were tasty, hostess nice though not enthusiastic in her presentation. After discussion with other passengers agreeing the wines were not tasty or appealing. The wines in the second and third wineries were really nice and certainly enjoyed by everyone. The hostess in the 3rd winery La Bri was a real people person and had everyone entertained. Franschoek township was lovely and we enjoyed walking around, though by the end of the day it was late and we ran out of steam to walk around Stellenbosch. Our guide was nice though though not a conversationalist. One of our group explained they didn’t drink and he said something could be arranged, though we had to ask at each of the wineries, thought he could have organised. We really think different winery for the first one other than Fairview would enhance the experience of this tour.

Basil the driver-guide kept us safe, informed and entertained. I had the luck to share this tasty tour with a group of South African women and other lovely travelers, which made it even more memorable. The landscape is sweet, wine is high quality, the paring with cheese and chocolate on point. Got back to the hostel happy!!!
