About Los Angeles Airport in California

Los Angeles International Airport which is often called LAX, is the largest airport serving the Greater Los Angeles area. However, there is also the LA Ontario International Airport, John Wayne Airport, Long Beach Airport, and Bob Hope Airport in Los Angeles. Not only is it the busiest airport of the area, but it's one of the few airports in the United States with a unique 4 parallel runway design.

Many well carriers operate their airlines out of LAX such as American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Horizon Air, Great Lakes Airlines, and US Airways Express. If you get the urge to see all the comings and goings of the aircraft live, Imperial Hill close to the airport provides an excellent vantage point.

LAX Airport also operates as a joint civil-military facility. It is a base for the United States Coast Guard and the Los Angeles Coast Guard Air Station facility. America's Aviation history is preserved at the Flight Path Learning Center and Museum located nearby the airport.

Commuters can avail buses, fly away buses and metro rail services from the airport. Just in case you aren't in the know, fly away buses are shuttles that transfer passengers to different terminal areas of the airport, free of charge.

Hotels such as The Courtyard Los Angeles LAX, Century Boulevard and the Concourse Hotel are all located in very close proximity to the airport.
