During the months of winter Old Town is adorned with innumerable handmade candles and the tourists sway with the tunes of live music, and the restaurants offer hot Mexican cuisines. Old Town is exclusively reserved for museums, cultural and commercial centres for the people.

The city was founded in 1706 as a small Spanish settlement. The Indian Pueblo Cultural Centre and the Petroglyph National Monument presents glimpses of the ancient and rich Indian history.
