Hiring a Campervan from British Columbia

Situated on the western coast of Canada lies the province of British Columbia, or as the French like to call it Colombie-Britannique.

British Columbia shares its borders with Alberta on the eastern side, the Gulf of Alaska on the western side, and the USA states of Washington, Idaho and Montana on the southern side. The name British Columbia was actually selected by Queen Victoria in 1858, and was the sixth province to come into being within Canada. The western side of British Columbia which stretches out in the Gulf of Alaska, has over 140 islands that constitute part of British Columbia. Many of the islands are National Parks and Reserves.

Victoria is the capital city of British Columbia, and of course was aptly named after the lady who named the province, Queen Victoria. However the largest city in British Columbia is the home of the 2010 Winter Olympics, and the beautiful harbour side city of Vancouver which is home to more than 600,000 people.

Other larger cities of mention in British Columbia include Surrey Burnaby, Richmond and Abbotsford.

Of course British Columbia is also home to some of the best ski reports in the world. But dont think its all just snow, snow and more snow. Other activities for all you non powder hounds include the Atlantis Slides, Revelstoke Dam, Britannia Mine Museum, British Columbia Wildlife Park, Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and Castle Fun Park.
